Gratefulness:

For phamily and friends

Blessed:

For health and happiness and more good days than bad ones.

Update:

Tarrah is still in ICU and Baby Ella is getting care at a different hospital. I am in awe of those who work on the flight for life , the doctors, nurses, paramedics, pilots. I don't think we always realize how much is involved in  critical care unless we ourselves have have had to deal with it. I am grateful, always, for those who put their lives on the line for others. It is such a selfless act. I want to be more grateful and thankful and I want all the front line workers to be blessed.

This may take up some space here but a friend shared some tips on handling the virus. She said it was from a Covid Survivor Group. Here it is:

How To Survive COVID at home:

No one ever talks about how to survive COVID at home.  I came down with COVID in November. I went to the hospital, running a fever of 103, with a rapid heartbeat and other common symptoms of the virus.  While there they treated me for dehydration, high fever and pneumonia.

The doctor sent me home to fight COVID with two prescriptions, Azithromycin250 mg, and Dexamethason 6 mg. When the nurse came in to discharge me, I asked her what I could do at home to help fight this. She said, sleep on your stomach at all times. If you can't sleep on your stomach  because of health issues,  do not lay on your back, no matter what, because it smashes your lungs and that will allow fluid to set in.

Set your clock every two hours while sleeping on your stomach, , then get out of bed and walk for 15-30 minutes no matter how tired  or weak that you are. Also move oyrur arms around frequently, it helps to open your lungs.  Breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth. This will help build up your lungs , plus help get rid of the pneumonia or other fluid you may have.

When sitting in a recliner, sit straight up. Do not lay back in the recliner, again, this will smash your lungs . While watching TV, get up and walk during every commercial.

Eat at least 1-2 eggs a day, plus bananas, avocado and asparagus. These are good for Potassium. Drink  Pedialyte, Gatorade Zero, Powerade Zero, and Water with Electrolytes. Do not drink anything cold, have it at room temperature or warm it up. Water with lemon, and a little honey. peppermint tea and apple cider are good choices for fluids. No milk products or pork. Vitamins D3, C, B, Zinc, Probiotic  One-Day are good ideas. Tylenol for fever, Mucinex or Mucinex DM for drainage, plus helps the cough. Pepcid helps for leg cramps. One baby aspirin everyday can help prevent a blood clot, which can occur from low activity.

Drink a smoothie with blueberries, strawberries, bananas, honey, tea and a spoon or two of peanut butter.

We always hear of how COVID takes lives, but there isn't a lot of information out there regarding low to fight COVID. I hope this helps you or someone you know, just as it has helped me.

Lot's of information out there but I thought this might be helpful. I worked for an ENT specialist and I do know if you have high blood pressure, to stay away from Mucinex DM. Regular Mucinex is good. As for smoothies, I find peanut butter powder works beautifully in smoothies. Nick was told, no Advil but to take Tylenol if he had a headache or any fever.

It is late and I Need some rest as our recycle day is tomorrow as well as trash day and we can not oversleep. Or they will be gone before we rise from our slumber. Sweet dreams everyone and day by day I am trying to visit and wish you all well.

Good advice. I'd seen that before, but believe it bears repeating again and again. I forget which one of Tom's 'stable' of physicians said it, but we were cautioned against Advil. "Tylenol" only. The way my lower backs been acting out, the super Tylenol Arthritis has been my new best friend.

Prayers continuing!
