I am trying to get updated on my blogs. Please please please bear with me. What a crazy few months we have had. This is an old post I decided to throw out there. I am out of tune at blog land. Love you all very much though. Have a beautiful  THURSDAY and FRIDAY!

Since I am pecking away like Hansel and Gretel with their breadcrumbs, I am not certain who does Feline Friday . I hope I will get a few comments so I can get back into the swing of things here.

We have a new grandboy born May1. He is his grandpa Avery's namesake. Big brother is happy he is here and he came into the world quickly. No doctor at the hospital, he was taking his sweet time, I suppose. Thank God there are good nurses and a mid-wife happened to be at the desk! That boy was a bit late but once ready for this world he make like a flash! Flash Gordon perhaps?

I found cute outfits for them that say "A Little Dirt Never Hurt". Reminded me of boys in general and a song called "Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands" It was written by my very favorite country singer/songwriter, Whisperin Bill Anderson. He did the song this past Saturday at the Grand Ole Opry in memory of David Allen Coe who passed away April 29, 2026 at the age of 86. David and Bill collaborated on this song and Bill's tribute to David was especially beautiful. Has anyone been to the Opry? I would love to go, my husband is not thrilled. Everyone who would want to go are friends who enjoy partying and I am past that . I take life slow and savor it.

 So much going on in our world.  Avery and I have so many appointments. In the words of my oldest and most hilarious friend Karen who resides in Idaho these days, "do you know what a good day or week is?" One where you don't have any doctor appointments! She is a colon cancer survivor. Her husband Chris had Macular surgery and cataract surgery last year. He is doing excellent.  They are such fun friends.

Two weeks ago I was eating a cup of yogurt at breakfast when my gold crown came rolling out of my mouth! It is a golden oldie so I needed a dentist fast. I am deathly afraid of MRI's (claustrophobia) and dentists. Had a horrible experience in 2020 with a dentist. I was grateful to find the best dental office where they treated me like a precious jewel. I am going to get my new crown next week as well as a second one for the other side of my teeth. Avery has excellent dental insurance so the damage was not as awful as we might have thought. I love the hygienist Alyssa. She laughs with you instead of at you! An excellent person and terrific at her job.. Paedra ( I need to check her spelling) the dental asst. was also a gem. Her name is so beautiful but I know it as Phaedra by Lee Hazelwood. It is his grand daughter name and the late Mr. Greenwood wrote a song titled "Phaedra" which is really beauitful.

Stopping In to say Hi

 Checking in to say hi. I feel so badly for missing you all and neglecting my blogs. Lots going on for us, but everything seems to be in happy mode!  After my surgery March 3, 2025 I was miserable. I don't like to put that on others so I stayed quiet. I will say the one negative which I truly dislike is the fact that my surgeon never once mentioned I could and I do have permanent nerve damage in my neck. I know how blessed I am to have survived it all but that was a hard pill to swallow. The only advice doctors seem to dole out is, we have give you medication to help! No thank you. I have better methods to deal with it, it just took a long while.

So on to better days...yesterday we attended the sweet little church our grand daughter Jacey attended when she was a youngster. The pastor  who celebrated sweet Alastor Avery's short life in 2019 for the phamilies and spoke at  our son-in-law Roger's celebration of life in December 2022 is still that same wonderful kind hearted gentle man. So Jacey said let's all go to church together. Rebekah our middle and Avery, my husband's twin (they are both middle children) mentioned it to Jacey and as  these precious gals attended our city's meetings regarding several issues these past two years. Pastor  was criminally fined for feeding the homeless in our city's park. It is a very sad situation but our girls went to bat for him so he was able to sit with some city officials and talk respectfully about this difficult subject. 

The homeless crisis is all over our country. If compassionate people do not reach out and feed them are any of us really following Jesus? It is a hard question many officials do not like to address. Sweep it aside and it should disappear. 

We attended church with the pastor and his small but amazingly wonderful congregation last weekend. They share a church building with another pastor so they celebrate on Saturday. It was a wonderful service and the young people impressed us. They were worshipping with their whole hearts. Kids today have so much thrown at them, school shootings, bullying, all the craziness of the world . Something my generation never had to deal with. I never regret one moment I spent worshipping in church as a kid.

At church this weekend  many in the congregation spoke about needs. One gentleman is involved with an organization that helps provide wells for clean water in small villages in many third world countries. One gentleman spoke as he and his wife were once homeless and that is something he knows first hand about. I personally felt the Holy Spirit moving in church yesterday. A lady spoke about spending time at a Jewish synagogue in our suburbs where she learned much about her Jewish history she was unaware of. Although this particular synagogue has had many threats they keep worshipping.  Other people from the congregation spoke about needing prayer for others and shared many answers to prayer as well.

The music, which pastor also participates in was wonderful and I love the simplicity of the church. They serve dinner afterwards. Our kids Rebekah and Zach and grandson Colton and grand daughter Jacey and their two kids  Harrison and Shea stayed to visit with others and enjoy the wonderful meal. Avery and I had to skedaddle. The B& B brothers were at their late summer baseball league. Oh the joy of watching them. Both teams played really well and it was fun to see them. They just returned from their Disneyland adventure.

The boys have two more games this weekend and next. Then they will start flag football in November indoors. Keeps them busy. Yesterday celebrated their one year anniversary since their accident. We are all so extremely grateful  for their recovery. Our son Jeremy is doing well also.

  A purrrfectly wonderful share for Feline Friday. There is an expression I love regarding felines too:

Cats are very intelligent creatures. I have one who carries on when his food bowl is not filled precisely at the very moment he rises from his slumber. It is a tough life, but somebody has to live it!

Pink Saturday
Oh my goodness, I love this pink perfection in a classic Chevy Bel Air. My older brother drove one in the 1960's but it was a dusty mauve and gray two tone car. This was a Pinterest find but what I would give to have a beauty like this. Sigh.....get some pink today.

Strong Willed Women

Most days my life seems random. I can't seem to get it together to post to each blog at least once a month here and weekly at Phamily Blog.

I'm a day late but all day yesterday I thought about all the wonderful women in my life and their strong willed personalities and all their accomplishments.

I don't know Danica Patrick personally but I have loved auto racing since I was a kid! She was in a commercial recently. My great grandboy Harrison saw her and said Vroom Vroom! I said, do you know her? He said Uh-huh! I said, is it because she drives cars fast? He said Yeah, vroom vroom!

My youngest girl and me. She is quiet most times but she teaches little ones and she loves that job even though there is not a lot of money in it. This is a favorite photo of us.

My beautiful grandmother Cecilia, the mother of my mom and all her siblings. She was the strongest women I ever knew. I celebrate her every single day I live.

My mom loved Babe Didrikson Zaharis. Although she is more famous for her golf game, she was a superb athlete . She was outstanding in basketball,baseball, golf and track and field. My mother loved baseball and played it well. These are some of the women I celebrate.

My folks were sterling examples of good faithful people. My mother always stood by my father and she raised wonderful children. She was a people person, an athlete and faithful mother to her children and a devoted wife. She loved the Lord and reminded me everyday to "pray".

My childhood hero Annie Oakley.  As a kid I wanted to be just like her. She was amazing and never backed down when compared to men who were sharpshooters.

Rebekah and Noelle, my two older daughters. This was a cute candid shot at Rebekah's wedding in December. Both of them work in insurance and they are both smart and sassy. Love my phamily.

Pray for this sweet grandboy. Babies always need prayer. Here is telling his dad he is not interested in sleep but rather playtime.

I share Scripture with Harrison everytime he is with me. He loves his little bible, it is designed for his small hands. I hope one day he will cherish it as I treasure my first bible.
