Tuesday4 and Happy Tuesday

Tuesday4 in memory of Toni Taddeo. It feels good to participate. These past few weeks have been a blur. Here I go:

Let's do a variety of questions this week ,ok ?

1. Did you have a favorite cartoon program or character as a young person, or even today?

Oh yes! Tom & Jerry and still watch them today. Avery and I have three different Tom and Jerry t shirts. We love them, but I prefer Tom over Jerry. I suppose because I have a cat and not a mouse as a pet! hahaha We have dogs too so we know Tom has a love/hate relationship witht he dog in the cartoon too. Always lots of fun but that Jerry, he is a devious little mouse.

2. Can you whole heartedly give people a second chance or do you find yourself still worried about trusting them?
It is difficult to forgive others when they have treated you wrongly? It is difficult. But I pray for them every single day. I believe you can pray sincerely but you do not have to be mistreated, gossiped about, hated for no reason and still pray. You can simply forgive and forget. You just need to remember if you pray, you need to stay on the right side of God and not bring up those hard feelings.  I learned this from my mom. She was a wonderful woman who loved her church and more importantly God and Jesus.  I think you can let go of  people who are toxic to you but you can also pray that God will turn them around. But I do not think you have to continue taking their hatefulness, bullying, whatever it is they were doing to you.

"For He delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved son, in whom we have redemption., the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:13-14

3. Are there things/activities you'd like to add to your to your life or do you feel you have enough to do, going on, to keep you satisfied?

When I was younger I loved having a full life, a busy schedule but when I had children it became all about them. Now as adults, I have concerns  about them, so keeping the bible centered in my life is most important. I do study my bible and write daily and when the weather finally decides to cooperate, we will start walking again in the evenings and weekends. We are to get our temps into the 80's on Thursday and have them drop into the 30's and 40's for the weekend. Snow is predicted. We never know, as Colorado can have all the seasons in a few minutes. We have much going on with Nick and his health. So until we have answers it is difficult to do much else.  P R A Y is as as important as breathing.

4. Can you live without your phone and social media?

I have. I grew up and had my first job where everything was hand written. Today, schools do not teach you cursive. we did not have computers except for a big machine that printed in dot matrix on massive sheets of paper the daily financial totals as I worked in the County Treasurer's Office of my hometown. You had to have nice handwriting to write in those massive books. About a month ago we had a blackout, lost power, no phone, no internet. I think people are so trained to not want to live without these things. I do like reaching out to people far away but I also like to have their personal info, address, phone # etc. I don't like saying much about the ways of this world at social media.  But I have a few friends were I can sit down and write my thoughts and they can too. I do believe those of us who were raised before technology took over, will survive easier than those who have had a cell phone of laptop attached to themselves. There will come a time when these things will be taken away so I look for simpler means of entertainment, books and writing, watching my grands grow. I think if people truly care about you, they could take five minutes to sit down and hand write a note to you. Otherwise, no, they are too wrapped up in the ways of the world. Just my thoughts. One of the happiest birthday's I ever had in my golden years was my 60th. I received over 60 messages, cards, letters, thoughts from so many wonderful people I know. I would like to wake up on my birthday and find my mail box overflowing with cards or notes. But people rarely do these things anymore.

A random photo from me to you:

Corinthians 4:16-18 " That's why we are not discouraged. No, even outwardly we are wearing out, inwardly we are being renewed each and every day. This light, temporary nature of our suffering is producing for us an everlasting weight of glory, far beyond any comparison, because we do not look for thigns that can be seen are temporary,  but things that can not be seen are eternal."

Thank you for supporting all of us during these times of health issues and pain and suffering. Also please pray for our blogging friend Andrea and her husband. She says they believe he has prostrate cancer and the specialist has not returned their calls. They need answers. Please pray.

Nick will be seeing his specialist this week with his results and we will go from there. Thank you again. Prayers are far reaching and God answers each prayer in His time. Thank you again.

A Quick Note

As soon as Nick gets answers to this health crisis I will be able to be back to the blog. Until we know anything certain I don't feel comfortable talking about it.

If you pray, please do so. He does have a great doctor so that is a great thing.

Thank you for your support.

Tuesday4 and Happy Tuesday

Tuesday4  Hosted by Annie

By the Seas, By the Sea, By the Beautiful Sea

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we give you 4 questions each week to stimulate thought and conversation on the net.

This week it might be nice to talk about the seashore.

1, If you lived by the sea would you like to own a boat  and what would you name it?

Yes it would be wonderful to own a boat. I water skied when I was very young so that would be great.

A name, Agua Princess. Agua is Water in Spanish and one of the few words I can recall. A Water Princess would be a perfect name for my boat.

2.Do you enjoy beachcombing? What do you like to find...shells? sea glass? driftwood?

I haven't been to the beach in a while but I love shells. On Lake Erie, we found some beautiful sparkling rocks. I Love sand dollars and still have a few plus sand from a beach in Mexico my niece gave me after her honeymoon . I would would some sea glass and driftwood is popular to make lots of DIY Projects into great household items these days.

                                                                       Catalina Island

3. Do you have a favorite beach or seaside resort that you enjoy? Tell us a little about it please. If the beach isn't your thing what is and where do you like to go?

Catalina Island is a favorite place and I pray I am going to be able to get my husband there. It is such a romantic place and my favorite thing were the glass bottom boats. The first visit I had there was with girlfriend. The second time I visited was with a guy my girlfriend fixed me up with. He locked me and my oldest girl Noelle in his house when he went to work. I called my girlfriend Barb, we went out the window and we never saw him again. It sure was not a romantic visit hahaha....But Catalina is so pretty and I want to take my sweet husband there. He has not been to the beach. I have visited the Padre Islands in Texas, the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and  on the water in Louisana , Mrytle Beach in SC and of course the Pacific ocean in California. I am a Colorado native so I love the mountains too and my favorite places are  Rye, Colorado  and San Isabel, Telluride and Avalanche Ranch .

Evangola State Park, Western NY on Lake Erie

San Isabel National Forest

You have not lived until you step into a hot springs at Avalanche Ranch while the snow falls around you. It is a magical place to visit. Carbondale, Colorado.

4. You are out and about at the seaside and you are so hungry. What foods are you going to try? What about a tropical cocktail? Have one in mind?

At the beach I love anything seafood related.I love a Pina Colada so that is my go to drink although I hve been told that I make the best Pina Coladas. A Chi Chi is similar too. We love the old TV series "Mamas Family". In an episode where she wins a trip to Hawaii she is drinking chi chi's. But those were non alcoholic. hahaha So at the end when she finds this out, she switches to her usual, that she drinks at home, a beer!

Happy Tuesday

I thought these two blog hops fit perfectly together today. I hope you will visit both and share some happiness and seaside thoughts too.

Maxine has opinions everywhere. Here she is at the beach. But she sure has a point here.....

Before I close, my friend who is a native of Japan, mentioned that Honolulu Hawaii and Denver Colorado have about the same cost of living. She loves Hawaii as it is halfway to here in Colorado and halfway to Japan where she often meets her phamily. That is in travel time for each of them coming from those countries Japan and USA.

Aw...Mondays and More

 Aw....Mondays

This is our life. Trying to get Hannah's old room organized for their stay with us later this month.  I think this is our new motto. We get things done, it just takes a lot longer.

Enjoying these days with my sweetheart.  This is us. Yesterday we gave Rebekah and Zach a ride to the light rail and Avery wanted a DQ Dilly Bar. So guess where we went? I had a small strawberry malt and he had a Dilly Bar. Love is...is always sweet for me.

Sunday Selections #579

Sunday Selection #579

My photos are usually random. But since May 3rd is our 38th wedding anniversary, I will start here.

Mother's Day 2020 will all five of our kids.

When Don Mattingly played for the New York Yankees he was known at the "Hit Man". This was actually a poster and many people had it gracing their walls.

Our oldest son Jeremy married April 30, 2016 to Brittany. Here we are all cleaned up and looking pretty and handsome.

I was taking photos of fences today. This one near a bank they are tearing down and rebuilding has a pretty pink tree blooming .
