HOLIDAY WEEKS

 

The holidays always mess up my thinking and I have look at my calendar so I know where I am and what day it is! It was nice having Hannah and Jake out here for a visit although they came to attend a celebration of life for their friend Ryan who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at age 33.  They brought the rain and cooler temps with them. We enjoyed our time with them and they will be back for Hannah's birthday in a few short weeks. Oh how time flies away.

So much sadness in our world yet I have taken the 30 Day Challenge with my friend Marsha to find joy in each day. Today I find joy in knowing Beverly, a blogging friend. She is always the first person to say she will pray and always follows up and is filled with joy. She is one person who has prayed for Nick since the start of this journey of unknowns started nearly one month ago. She is a joy in my life.

Yesterday I found joy in the rain. Oh it rained and rained and rained. I thought we might need a row boat. But joyful for the simple pleasure of  seeing the grass grow greener and greener with each day. 

Nick had his appointment with his specialist today. It appears that things are looking up for him. His hemoglobin numbers are up and they are attributing his anemia to an infection. If there is something weird to be found, Nick will be that patient.  He is doing much better and we pray it continues.

God really does listen to prayer.  He answers in His own time sometime quickly, other times not so much. 

I was talking with a former blogger. She did beautiful photography work. I wish she would return to her blog. We talked about the wonderful friendships formed here and a few bloggers agreed. It is a wonderful place. 

Thankful Thursday

Mister Kitty was unhappy while Franklin was visiting. So this would be me, him and our conversation.  - still thankful for the furball keeping my feet warm at night while the rain was pouring down. He is ornery but he knows I already have a dog! hahaha

We invested in a flat top grill with Zach and Rebekah. Jake came to town and put it together. we have had a barbeque with it and a terrific breakfast. It was heavenly.  Thankful. Jake will be back. He and Avery took the front porch bench apart. They sanded and redid the wooden bench but when they return in a few weeks they will clean up the wrought iron arms and back and repaint it. It was lots of hard work but that bench will be like brand new.  I will send a photo when the finish is completed.

Thank you for prayers for Nick and for being here. I am going to get back into this blog because my mind is clear with this latest appointment with Nick's specialist. I was walking on a tightrope and my brain was in a fog these past 5 weeks.
