Memories of A Real Life Angel: Thankful Thursday Pink Saturday

I spent a great deal of this day attempting to get this photo on my blog. It is the very last photo I have of myself and Alastor Avery , my grandson Colton and Jacey's second son.  This was taken on August 2, 2019 on a Friday evening. We watched this precious boy and his older brother.  It was the very last time we would see him on this earth. Although the sadness is always there, my hope is to see this beautiful boy in Heaven and have a wonderful reunion with him and all those who have gone before us.
Each phamily member has different feelings and lots of wonderful stories about this little fellow. My greatest memory of him, every time I step into my shower.  I see his smiling face looking  at me as I bathed him and his brother together that Friday night. Alastor Avery was a little character. He would lookup at me and grin and hit that water hard with his hand and laugh the sweetest little laugh. Even when I would say, "Alsator Avery don't you dare splash that water at me." B O O M ! He would splash it hard and water would go flying. We would laugh and  I think of him in this sweet way every single day of my life since he went to live with Jesus in his heavenly home.

" A teardrop on earth summons the King of Heaven." Charles R. Swindoll

Thankful today for these memories, for a small baby boy who will always be 7 months old in our minds. Thankful for my daughter Rebekah who helped me navigate this technical stuff and found a way, she has the patience of Job , to get it on my blog. I on the other hand, am the opposite. I am like Jonah.  Wanting to give it all to God, and often hesitate. But I am getting stronger and leaning on Him more and more everyday.

Avery took this photo with Alastor Avery on April 3, 2019. When we lost this precious baby boy, my sweet husband said," God honored us as  we were given an Ambassador of Heaven."  We were all greatly blessed, even for a short time. Their faces are priceless in this photo and I can still hear that little baby boy cooing at this Great Grandfather. Thankful God gave him to us, even though it was not a full lifetime.

Thankful for my friend Amanda, who is mom to 8 kiddos including a set of triplets. She homeschools  her older children. She always ,always shares
these words. One of my favorite people when I was a young lady was Fulton J Sheen. These next words are his and I am so very thankful I was raised with godly parents and attended Catholic school  most of my life. I still talk to and keep in contact with many of those classmates. They are part of my prayer warriors.

My parents saw to it that we were raised in a godly manner. I am forever thankful for that. I yearn for that Heavenly reunion one day.

This is the serious sister of the "Bathtub Brothers" Harrison and Alastor Avery.  She seems serious, do not let her fool you. I had to cover her up because she said it was cold. She is like a 100 year old granny when she gets cold. Yet she is very stubborn and  went out of that tub kicking and screaming, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, I want the bath, the bath, the bath! I know she is related to the brothers because see her finger in her ear? They all liked to lie down in the water and rush the water in their ears and complain. hahaha....they also like to tell me the water was too hot, too cold. I wondered if someone left the three bears in my bathtub!

I hope you visit Thankful Thursday. Please visit Pink Saturday also.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Today I had to pick up a prescription for my husband. When I got to the store, the pharmacy said it would be tonight after 5 o'clock. I did some shopping and did not realize I had a shopping cart with a bad wheel. Not a wonky wheel, but a wheel that the  thick rubber was falling off the metal wheel. I realized this when I put a 40 pack of bottles water in my cart! It nearly flipped over.

I went to the front of the store and replaced my cart with all the groceries I had already put in the other cart. I told two women working at the customer service center. I sure hope they told whoever takes the bad carts out of the way because the next person mght be injured and sue them!

I had a really nice cashier check out my groceries. So it was a thankful experience. When I started to put the groceries in my car a customer approached me. She was a small lady, about 5 feet tall and said she would put my cart up for me. She helped me load the water and other big items in my car anf then pit my cart up. That was really thankful to have such  a nice person help me in that way.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I was yelling at my TV this afternoon as the Rockies could not win a game against the Phillies. Their coach is supposedly a former major league pitcher. Thus my baseballism.  When a pitcher allows two runs to score even though the batter did not get a hit but rather a free pass, or walk, and does it again, he needs to remove that pitcher! Unfortunately for the Rockies, their coach let the pitcher allow 4 free passes for the Phillies. The Phillies acted like they just won the World Series. I had hoped that woke culture would not seep into the MLB but unfortunately it has. Everyone gets a trophy so no body cries!  Not thankful for this kind of behavior but always thankful for the dad I had who knew the game and played it with passion and love. Very thankful

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Boys....thankful for them. Doubly thankful!

Thankful for Addy....she was in Boston and NYC last week for her Spring break with her classmates. She brought us this cool Robinson Tea Chest from Boston Tea Party 1771. We are so thankful for her thoughtfulness. We are doubly thankful for Addy being part of our phamily.

Last Monday I was dumping all the trash into the trach pick up containers. I turned wrong and have had a stiff and sore neck. Our chiro doc was out of town for Spring Break too. So we get to see him next Saturday. Very thankful.

So this has been me.......

March 27th was my big sister Pat's birthday and you know she left this earth in 2001. It is also the date we were told our unborn daughter Rachel Lee had passed away in 1987. It is a double difficult day for me.

Avery took a few days off and he had to have his Jeep in the shop. The water pump was going out. It was a good thing we had Eric check it out. He quoted us one price and it was over $100 less! Talk about being thankful.  He had the Jeep for two days they sent him the wrong part! We were thankful to get it fixed before it broke down during  busy rush hour traffic. Very thankful.

We also had to get two new tires for the Kia and our tire guy is always so helpful. He found a nail in one of the other tires and promptly fixed it! We have been blessed with good mechanics and other car care providers. Always thankful for them.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

 THANKFUL THURSDAY

Today I am most thankful for the fact that my sweetheart has a parking spot in the hotel parking across the bridge from his office.  He may pay a premium for it but he avoids all the germs on the light rail. Since RTD has not put the bus schedule back into place these past two years,  it is a real blessing to leave and get home timely rather than waiting in the cold or the heat for your ride.

I am also grateful for my favorite feline best friend Boots. Today he has been ten long years since he left me although I feel like he went away just yesterday. He was the very best cat to have ever lived and spent his time in my life. I remember the day I picked him up. He was the last of a large little of kittens. I am guessing because he was black with some white paws and a milk mustache, no one wanted him. Their loss. He was amazing and was a good friend for the years I had him. Miss you my sweet friend.

You are gone but never forgotten. I wish I had you still today. Thankful I had you for the short time I had you.  05-03-1998 - 03-16-2012

This girl Rose would have had her birthday today. What a wonderful life she had. She was Nick's constant companion. When he left for college I promised Nick I would make sure she stayed happy and and healthy. She did for a long while. She was a tough little kitty. She had a mean left hook. I always said if she was a person she would be left handed! She loved chicken and would turn her nose up to any other foods. Thankful to have had you Rose. You had a wonderful life. -3-16-2005 - 11-10-2019

Thankful Thursday and Dr. Seuss Day

Dr. Seuss Day Photo courtesy of MethodShop

Thankful Thursday  So much to be thankful for today and everyday.

Last night we watched our two grandsons so their mom and dad and big sister could go to the Nuggets basketball game. Unfortunately, for the Nuggets, the OKC Thunder beat them. Today we recuperate from two small boys with so much kindness and energy! Thankful

Some fellas do their best puzzle work shirtless. Others like to wear their whole pj's! This big brother is a good influence on the little brother. Together they put together two puzzles in record time. We watched so much Peppa Pig that when I woke up this morning and opened my laptop Peppa was staring me in the face! hahaha Very thankful.

The Grandpa had to get to work. His co worker  who recently bought a home in Pueblo, is contemplating retirement and had to make a trip South as there are issues with her house down there. I am praying the day goes by quickly without too many big jobs to tire my sweetheart.  He is a good grandpa and gets on the floor with these little guys. Once I am on the floor I have to crawl to my love seat so I get get up again. Ah....aging, it is certainly not for sissies (Bette Davis). Thankful

Jack LaLanne and I need more quality time together on his old videos. hahaha

I took a walk with Rebekah and Finn and Thor yesterday. They both like to be the lead dog.  They were told by their vet to lose a few pounds. I love the warmer months for this reason, we had been walking after dinner for the past two years with the pups. Rebekah and Zach walk Leo as he is a handful on his harness and leash. Rabbits, squirrels, birds, you know he wants to catch them all! Thankful for these moments with the pups.

Thankful that I can still pray and I am praying for our world. I am thankful for you and hope you are having a good day.

THANKFUL ThURSDAY

Thankful Thursday Join Brian and friends today. There is always something to be thankful for.

Avery and I headed out to do some errands SONday morning. Everywhere we went, we had a thankful experience. I like to remember those because you find other kind souls with a smile or a kind word. It is easy but somedays we have to search longer.

Have you ever had a morning like t his ? This fuzzy feline could have been our Rose. She was one strong willed Cat Girl!

I felt like her yesterday watching Blake who turns three later this Summer and Shea who turns 2 this Spring.
I hope you are thankful for something today and enjoy each moment you are given. Take care.

Thankful this guy doesn't bark at me! Leo has a limp and Rebekah is going to get him in to see the vet. Probably his age and the fact that he is a big guy but this fellow was upset when Leo stood by my me demanding I do as he wishes! Ha! This one thinks he rules my world. Happy Feline Friday

Thankful Thursday

Please visit Thankful Thursday

Look how carefree leaves are. The leaves fall from the trees leaving them bare in colder months. Leaves don't worry. I want to be like leaves Thankful

Thankful for a serious boy with a blue mouth, who finished his blue lollipop. He was quite concerned and had to make sure I would check in on the Bronco/Browns football game tomorrow night.  This child is so smart and selfless. How he loves his little brother and big sister. Plus if you catch him when he is on a comedy trip, he will make you laugh out loud. Very thankful he is part of the fabric in our lives. Although he excels in cleanliness he is a comic like his father. He likes cleanliness because he is his mother's son too.  Lil bro and big sis were finishing their dinner. I said to this little man, your pants are going to fall off, you do not eat enough to keep a bird well fed. He had the silliest look on his face! He is what my mother always reminded me about children, a gift from God and priceless too. My mother and grandmother were filled with wisdom about all the important things in life. I am very thankful they were mine for all the years I had them.

I love music as you may know, if you hang around here. There is a beautiful country song that shares the way I feel particularly about my grandmother as she was taken when I was in the 6th grade. A long time ago but like yesterday in my life. I highlighted words in this song that remind me of my grandmother.  I believe our reunion will be amazing. She will have crystal clear vision and we will walk together in heaven's splendor. It willbe a grand time and nothing in this world will ever be able to compare to it.

I took the words from a Brad Paisley song called "When I Get To where I'm Going" and knew this song was going to be important to me when I see my grandmother and BFF again on the other side of this earth.

I'm gonna walk with my granddaddy (in my case my grandmother)
And he'll (she'll)  match me step for step
And I'll tell him (her) how much I missed him (her)
Every minute since he left (she left)
And than I'll hug his neck (her neck)

Thankful Thursday

Unsure what I will do next here. I know I have a plan to leave the other social media sites permanently. Nothing there but spewing hatred for those of us who do not think like the  masses. Lies and fact checkers. Fact check this, God is the One who is in charge. No matter what your news tells you, no matter what a celebrity thinks and  what anyone else believes . God is always and forever. I am so thankful for Him. Romans 16:26

I never, in the worst nightmares, ever thought I would live to see such insanity.  The handful of people I visit, have been kind and caring. Others fall off the grid because they do not like my thinking. My faith is number one in my life. If I put God anywhere but at the top of my life, I fail and I fail terribly. I worked with so many non believers throughout my life.  I use to feel sad and then I reread God's Word which tells me if I share my story, or my faith and those I share with do not want to hear it, then I need to walk away. I am thankful God is in charge. That job is way too big for anyone else to manage. Proverbs 19:21

I know a lady, who has a kind heart but she thinks she is going to save the world. Nope, that is a one man job. His name is Jesus and He died on the cross for all the world. But all the world does not know Him. I know one thing, you can not say you love God and go along with things of the world.  His life is forever. He paid the price with His precious blood. I am not forcing anything on anyone, I am simply speaking what I know to be truth. This world is filled with so many lies,  but as long as I have lived, I know God listens. I know Jesus walks alongside of me. I have been to the darkest places with my health, with loss, with difficult roads I have traveled. No one but God pulled me up and out of the darkness. I am thankful to Him for my life which is nothing spectacular, but it is the life He gave me. Colossians 1:17

I wish I could share every single time God pulled me up from despair. Recently, I asked for prayer for myself. I Knew I would eventually need catarac surgery. I have had horrible vision from the time I was in the 4th grade. so when I had my eye exam this week, the doctor said, Good news, although Fred and Frank "my floaters") are residing in your eyes, you have no sign of cataracs. He was probably the coolest eye doc I have seen since Dr. Wetzig. Dr. Wetzig was the son of my grandmother's eye doctor. Unfortunately, when my grandmother lost her eyesight to detached retina,  there was not a whole lot they could do for it.  I know because my friend's sister has a detached retina and she sees her eye specialist regularly. Today it is still a really difficult problem but there are some things that can prolong your vision. The young doctor I saw last year claimed I was getting cataracs. Where they went or if they were even there, I will not know. But I know God calmed my soul and He heard the prayers of all of you who prayed. Instead of catarac surgery I will get some pretty new frames. I am thankful for all who prayed and appreciate each one of you. 1 Peter 3:12

I don't really want to leave here, a few of my relatives I keep in contact with , encourage me to keep blogging. But I am not sure with all the sadness happening everywhere in our world if I will feel up to it. Somedays, I get up and I pray. I listen to the bible on an app. I read my bible. I pray. I look up at the clock and it is time for my sweetheart to come home. 1 John 5:15

Isaiah 42:9

I pray for him everyday because he is in a tough situation. He workds really hard and they are really busy. With everything going on, neither one of us takes anything for granted. We don't know if we will be here tomorrow or if the job will be there.  So we take life, one day at a time.  we thank God for sticking to us like glue. Otherwise we would be part of the messy world trying to recomcile our lives by the world's standards. No thank you and ever thankful for still having some common sense and logic. 2 Peter 2:2=3

The bibles warns how the last days there will loved ones turning against us. I see it already. So I am grateful to stay close to God and not worry about this world, because my opinion of it does not matter. God will take care of it all in His own time. Thankful He is here and will never leave us. Matthew 10:21-42

Thankful Thursday I am thankful to know everyone over here. Good people and pets, who truly care.
