Gratitude

Great Princess Sassy Pants I am grateful everyday for all the good things we have in our lives. I am frustrated as this blog business is giving me a fit and garbling my words. If it continues I may have to try something different to blog. The frustrations are constant and seem to pop up out of nowhere. I am grateful my photo posted. Hoping you have a good week, enjoy your days and always be grateful.

Snoopy for Thankfulness, Gratefulness, Blessed

Charles M Schultz even wrote a Snoopy & Charlie Brown book on thankfulness. They do not make great stuff like this anymore. No matter how you feel, BE THANKFUL!

Snoopy and Charlie Brown can help me feel GRATEFUL for all I have and all I do.

Don't forget to always count your BLESSINGS!

Fruit of the Spirit

If you visit Galatians 5:22-23 in the Scriptures  you will find the fruit of the spirit:

1. Thankfulness goes well with Love

2. Gratefulness is a perfect pair with Joy

3. Blessed is a match for Peace.

4. Thankfulness and Forearance go hand in hand. To be patient and  use self control will always make you feel thankful.

5. Gratefulness and Kindness are interchangable.

6. Blessed is a goodness. Goodness is Blessed.

7.Thankfulness and Faithfulness are very similar. They should be used daily.

8. Gratefulness and Gentleness are both great comforts.

9. Blessed and Self Control tell a story worth hearing, as long as you listen intently.

I had the silliest notion today. I was eating a pear with tricuits and cottage cheese for a snack when I had the idea to try to incorporate the fruit of the spirit here.  I was thankful for an idea to use here. Grateful for my snack and Blessed because I can share these words here.

I felt under the weather all day today. I did not get as much done as I had hoped. My allergies were kicking up and causing me to sneeze. Then my sinus pressure was building up. It is an annoyance but I use some old fashioned methods to deal with it all and alwaus feel better. I am better now but need my rest so I wish you sweet dreams, a restful night and a blessed tomorrow. Praying we will be here again.

Words to Ponder

"The few own the many because they possess the means of livlihood of all...The country is governed for the richest, for the corporations, the bankers, the land speculators, and for the exploiters of labor. The majority of mankind are working people. So long as their fair demands ---the ownership and control of their livlihoods---are set at naught, we can have neither men's rights nor women's rights. The majority of mankind is ground down by industrial oppression in order that the small remnant may live in ease. " Helen Keller, 1911

Helen Keller was a remarkable person. She overcame so many disabilities to be one of the finest people in the 20th century. She is one of those people who has always been on my list of strong willed women and "Heroes".

I am thinking Helen Keller must have been thankful for Anne Sullivan . Because of her perserverance, Helen Learned to communicate through reading and writing. I am sure she was grateful for all the talent she was given by the grace of God and hard work and I imagine she was blessed to know how loved she was to millions throughout her life time.

Sleep well, sweet dreams and praying for another tomorrow so I may see you here.

Great News from Prayers and Praise for the One Who Answers us

Psalm 17:6 “I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.”

Prayer often takes time to be answered and other times it is quick. We know this from many sadnesses in our own lives. We know sometime an answer arrives quickly and sometime it is day by day and seems like a slow process. But God does it all in HIs own time.

This pretty little lady turned a whole month old. She is growing and her mom and dad are grateful for the support they have received. Especially the prayers.  She is a sweetheart of a girl. Just ask her daddy:

She is tiny like a petite loaf of bread. Her daddy loves her with his whole heart. She is the one thing that was missing in their big phamily of rough and tumble boys.  Andrew needs continured prayer. He holds it all together while Tarrah heals and gets her treatment for dialysis. She is now on a special diet which helps her with the treatment. Ella needs continued prayer too. They are all so appreciative.

Thanks to everyone who prayed for Jeremy & Brittany too. They did get the home they wanted. We are very excited for them. They are going to be able to have the extra room they have been needing. The kids will love it.

I believe  prayer can accomplish much when we pray with grateful hearts.

Every morning when I rise up I thank God for being here one more day.  God is so good.

I love this observation. I also love rain. I do believe those clouds cry all those raindrops when they become too much to carry.

Hoping you are all resting and dreaming of many wonderful things. I had a very nice dream last night. Such a sweet blessing. It was a dream filled with kindness. Hoping I will see you here again.

Gratitude, Thankfulness and Blessed

C S Lewis was quite brilliant and many of his words ring true in 2021.Grateful to know good people like Joyce who shares some of these insights.

Thankful for common sense and good manners. This is excellent advice. I have to walk away so I don't engage critical people.  Somedays it is harder than others but being thankful is a priority with me. So is P R A Y E R ! Always pray for those you do not agree with or those who irk you.

Blessed: Hannah said they had two days of non stop snow. Her backyard is a winter wonderland. I love this observation. It is so quiet after a snowfall.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Have a great night and get your beauty rest.

Abandoned Feline

Our daughters friend and her husband are adopting this sweet boy. He was abandoned and her sister-in-law and her husband found him when they went to move into the home they bought. Their daughter is allergic to cats so they can not keep him. Of course, the poor feline baby was frightened. It appears he has everything he needs to survive except love. Grateful someone can step up adn give him the good home he deserves.

1. Be Thankful and Be Kind

2. Be Grateful and Be Respectful\

3. Be Blessed and always spread Love

During these strange times we live in I do understand why they repeat the hand washing, distancing etc. If you can abandon a pet you must be incredibly selfish.
I am grateful the new home owners are contacting their realtor to get the previous owners info. Our vet office will accept abandoned or ill pets. But this fellow is perfectly content except he was very frightened.

Hoping you all have a wonderful weekend. I will get updates on Tarrah and Ella. Nick finally goes back to his home office tomorrow. Say some prayers all around. Thank you.

Get your beauty rest! ENjoy the weekend and thank you for being here.

Princess Sassy Pants and Everyday LIving

2020 was a year we will not forget. But I think 2021 will give us more of the same. I think it is best to make the very best of whatever we have to deal with.

Last weekend Rebekah made these yummy lemon tartlets. They took two days to perfect. Next time. she said she would double her recipe. They were so yummy and they are were perfect two bite treats.

She also made scones. These were the drop style. We have made the ones where you cut them into triangles. The hubby is great about perfecting those triangles. But Rebekah felt these were lopsided. Well.... who cares? They were so delicious. I find imperfection is sometime even more delicious then perfection. I have had some perfect pastries that were a big letdown. Too much work to achieve the perfect dessert can turn disasterous. Trust me these scones with a cup of tea and some clotter cream...heavenly.

If you have ever made clotted cream from scratch you know there is an art to it. First of all you need patience. Lots of it. Secondly you must bake it on low heat for 24 hours. The wait was tortore! But all in all these delight homemade treats were so special because Rebekah has been honing her baking skills all 2020. It was the best highlight of the year, Next to Baby Shea Shea being born !

This one is a google image. We often get caught up in eating these beautiful treats so the photos are forgotten. You want a good cup of tea to go along with clotted cream and scones. Tarlets too. It was a perfect weekend to have someone who takes pride in their baking.

Yesterday I was off the grid. I was having a Wacky Wednesday! But Korie Robertson the wife of Duck Commander WIllie Robertson had posted at Instagram. I am not sure of the post, I was not there. But she was shocked at some of the wicked comments so today she posted this.:

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors, do they not do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Even the Gentiles, do they not do the same? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

No matter what your thoughts are, if you tell others you are a Christian, you know better than to post anything hateful or mean. I know no one is perfect int his world. But social media has become a haven for absolute wickedness. I use to enjoy Instagram and often it is every bit as mean and hateful as other social media sites. I admire Korie for posting this beautiful verse. I am hoping many will join in being kind and praying for all people, not just those we like.

I Like to remain thankful, kind and helpful in this world where we are unware day to day what is going to happen next. I want to be grateful for all the things I have in my life, regardless if they are good or if I feel they are wrong for me.  I love to feel blessed because I have been given so much love by my Father in Heaven. Jesus went to the cross for me. It is the very least I can dofor Him buy spreading kindness. not being a bullying and being respectful. We have fallen off the path and we need to ficur and get back on it. As hard as it may be at times, love is always going to win.

I appreciate everyone who stops here to say hello. I am in a state of craziness most days and need to better organize my time. With that said I appreciate every single thought you share with me. It means so much that you would take your time to be here. Thank you.

Sleep well everyone. Keeping everyone in my prayers and hoping we are here tomorrow. May sunshine follow each day you live and kindess be your guide. Thank you for being here.

Wacky Wednesday

Today was truly a Wacky Wednesday! Now I need to find a copy of this Dr. Seuss book. Let me back up a bit, my wackiness started Tuesday night! I felt kind of blah, long busy day, tired, more things to do than I had done. So I took a couple Tylenol. Except I am not a fan of the caplets, as they are so big and can gag a person at times. I took them and immediately felt like they were stuck between my throat and my stomach! Aack!  I spent my night tossing and turning. Around 2:30 in the morning I felt nauseous and could feel that Tylenol taste stuck in my throat. Yuck! So I sipped water and sipped Peppermint tea and fell asleep again until 7 A.M. My head still hurt, from lack of sleep. So I rested. I never turn the T.V. on during the day so that was a plus for me. But I tune in to a contest on the radio. No phone, no radio, ti was heavenly. I rested until ten o'clock. I prayed, I was thinking about different things I Had to do and I used my zero gravity option on my bed. I am not the type of person to carry my phone around as if my life depended on it. So I enjoyed much needed peace and quiet.

I ate soup and took my time getting my ahower and getting dressed. I even made a batch of good old white rice since my tummy was now upset from the Tylenol. This soup is a google image from  Soup. Now I may have to try this recipe. Around noon the hubby called and asked if I put the check he gave me in the bank. Uh-oh! Nope, I had not so I raced out the door thinking I would go to the drive up banking window and take care of it. I had some recycle so I grabbed my recycle bag, my phone, Purse on my shoulder and check in my hand. When I got to my car, the phone was gone and so was the check! I raced back to the recycle bin. There was my phone sitting on top of the recycle I dumped. Good thing I rinse containers, cans etc. but no check. I went back to my car, tore through my purse, nothing! Ran to my recycle bin. Halfway down the bin was that check staring up at me! So my wacky day really had begun!

\

Finally my new Brooks sneakers arrived. I was a bit upset because earlier the mail carrier left my hubby's pair on the porch None for me! So when I returned from my errand I waited patiently for these to arrive. I do not think you want to hear about the trip to the gas station after the bank. I will just say the stupid card reader was not working and it said go inside!  I did not feel up to running in there as I would have to grab my mask, my purse, you know this drill. Nope, just cancelled it and drove home. Which is really where I had planned to spend my day.

I found this google image that exactly spells out my thoughts about taking time for yourself. Turning off your phone or staying away from the radio or any one or thing that will ruin your relaxation. I am planning to deem Wednesday my TLC Day! You should join me and you can pick any day you want !

GRATITUDE/GRATEFUL:

As each day comes to us refreshed and anew, so does my gratitude renew itself daily. The breaking of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessèd world. ~Terri Guillemets

THANKFULNESS:

I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. ~G.K. Chesterton, A Short History of England, 1917

BLESSED:

O, money can't buy the delights of the glen,
Nor Poetry sing all its charms:
There's a solace and calm ne'er described by the pen
When we're folded within Nature's arms!
~James Rigg, "Nutting Time," Wild Flower Lyrics and Other Poems, 1897

Has this ever been you? I suppose today was just a warning about the other days like this one. Ha Ha Ha! I love this and I have actually done things like this.  I did get my bathroom sparkling clean today. That was a major accomplishment after my recycle incident.

Proverbs 16:20

Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. Proverbs 16:20 ESV

I love the image the author used to convey the message of this verse.

Rest well, enjoy some sweet dreams and hoping to see you again tomorrow. I am feeling so much better than I did last night. No more Tylenol caplets for me! I had a full day so I am ready for a good night's rest. Hoping your day was filled with thankfulness, gratefulness and blessings.

1929: KIndness 2021 : Gratitude

Today would have been the 92nd birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. and Anne Frank. It is an interesting fact that a friend, Joyce shared this info with me today. How wonderful this world would be if we had more MLK's and Anne Frank's in it.

These two people were filled with kindness. There was no room for hate in their hearts. I like to remember this . I hope you will too.

GRATITUDE:

The test of all happiness is gratitude... ~Gilbert K. Chesterton, "The Ethics of Elfland," Orthodoxy, 1908

Wouldn't it be an exhilarating tonic for the soul to take a moment to appreciate the simple, good things in life which are so bountiful...? ~Author unknown, c.1949

Silent gratitude isn't very much use to anyone who has done a lot for you. ~G. B. Stern, Robert Louis Stevenson: The Man Who Wrote 'Treasure Island,' 1954

There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed. If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com

Thanking God today for the love of family, the loyalty of friends and the kindness of strangers. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com, 2020

Kind hearts are the gardens,
Kind thoughts are the roots,

Kindness and Caring

When Nick all through middle school, high school and college, I saved hundreds of running quotes and stories. This is one of my favorites.

Here is a favorite Sous Chef. This kid cracks me up. He has an amazing personality and he is so smart. His sister made homemade ravioli from scratch last weekend and he assisted her. He loves to be involved in with projects whether it is his dad, his mom or siblings. He is an avid reader and trust me, he knows all his favorite books so well if his parents saying something different while reading to him he will politely correct them. We spent some time with the boys today. Addy came home later and this kid was so glad to see his sister. The little one, Blake is going to be 17 months old and he is super smart too. He knows his colors and he is learning so many new words. He is still a daddy's boy and Grandpa's boy but he is a joy to be around. He loves to eat and makes eating pure happiness. I feel so blessed to have them all in my life. We had so much fun with them today we forgot to take any photos. But we will see them Monday again so I will remember to take photos. Memo to myself!

I Love this find, this meme. Tarrah and Andrew have been through so much. Yet their personalities shine through. Tarrah came home last night and was thrilled to snuggle with her boys. Ella is nearly 3 lbs. and she is getting stronger and healthier each day. Pray works.I love when I can update great news.

A long weekend is here and everyone is home Monday except Nick who return to his home office work. He is grateful.   We will look forward to seeing the grands again. While the world seems filled with so much meanness I am finding as much goodness as I can. Hoping you will too. Have a blessed and beautiful weekend no matter what you have planned.

Jesus never took credit for being good, He said only God alone is good. I read and re read this Scripture. I find the same answer each time. I hope your filled with much happiness and kindness this weekend.

Humor to keep smiling. Especially if you are not good at reading maps like me or even paying attention to GPS.

Get your beauty sleep. Bea always reminds me of that, I need to catch up with her more. She lights my life with her vintage sayings and her sassy attitude and honesty. I sure love my long time friend. Rest well and have seet dreams. Goodnight all. Until tomorrow, God willing, we will see you then.
