Tuesday4 and Happy Tuesday

Tuesday4 in memory of Toni Taddeo. It feels good to participate. These past few weeks have been a blur. Here I go:

Let's do a variety of questions this week ,ok ?

1. Did you have a favorite cartoon program or character as a young person, or even today?

Oh yes! Tom & Jerry and still watch them today. Avery and I have three different Tom and Jerry t shirts. We love them, but I prefer Tom over Jerry. I suppose because I have a cat and not a mouse as a pet! hahaha We have dogs too so we know Tom has a love/hate relationship witht he dog in the cartoon too. Always lots of fun but that Jerry, he is a devious little mouse.

2. Can you whole heartedly give people a second chance or do you find yourself still worried about trusting them?
It is difficult to forgive others when they have treated you wrongly? It is difficult. But I pray for them every single day. I believe you can pray sincerely but you do not have to be mistreated, gossiped about, hated for no reason and still pray. You can simply forgive and forget. You just need to remember if you pray, you need to stay on the right side of God and not bring up those hard feelings.  I learned this from my mom. She was a wonderful woman who loved her church and more importantly God and Jesus.  I think you can let go of  people who are toxic to you but you can also pray that God will turn them around. But I do not think you have to continue taking their hatefulness, bullying, whatever it is they were doing to you.

"For He delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved son, in whom we have redemption., the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:13-14

3. Are there things/activities you'd like to add to your to your life or do you feel you have enough to do, going on, to keep you satisfied?

When I was younger I loved having a full life, a busy schedule but when I had children it became all about them. Now as adults, I have concerns  about them, so keeping the bible centered in my life is most important. I do study my bible and write daily and when the weather finally decides to cooperate, we will start walking again in the evenings and weekends. We are to get our temps into the 80's on Thursday and have them drop into the 30's and 40's for the weekend. Snow is predicted. We never know, as Colorado can have all the seasons in a few minutes. We have much going on with Nick and his health. So until we have answers it is difficult to do much else.  P R A Y is as as important as breathing.

4. Can you live without your phone and social media?

I have. I grew up and had my first job where everything was hand written. Today, schools do not teach you cursive. we did not have computers except for a big machine that printed in dot matrix on massive sheets of paper the daily financial totals as I worked in the County Treasurer's Office of my hometown. You had to have nice handwriting to write in those massive books. About a month ago we had a blackout, lost power, no phone, no internet. I think people are so trained to not want to live without these things. I do like reaching out to people far away but I also like to have their personal info, address, phone # etc. I don't like saying much about the ways of this world at social media.  But I have a few friends were I can sit down and write my thoughts and they can too. I do believe those of us who were raised before technology took over, will survive easier than those who have had a cell phone of laptop attached to themselves. There will come a time when these things will be taken away so I look for simpler means of entertainment, books and writing, watching my grands grow. I think if people truly care about you, they could take five minutes to sit down and hand write a note to you. Otherwise, no, they are too wrapped up in the ways of the world. Just my thoughts. One of the happiest birthday's I ever had in my golden years was my 60th. I received over 60 messages, cards, letters, thoughts from so many wonderful people I know. I would like to wake up on my birthday and find my mail box overflowing with cards or notes. But people rarely do these things anymore.

A random photo from me to you:

Noelle took this phoot at dinner the other night and shared it with me. I thoguht you'd like to see these 4 - sister and brother and two brothers. They look like they are holding on to each other for dear life! This makes me H A P P Y ! Happy Tuesday

Our grandson let us know that Jacey is at the hospital. She was having having  an appendicitis attack so she will be having surgery ASAP.

Please pray.

Jeremiah 17:14

Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.

Corinthians 4:16-18 " That's why we are not discouraged. No, even outwardly we are wearing out, inwardly we are being renewed each and every day. This light, temporary nature of our suffering is producing for us an everlasting weight of glory, far beyond any comparison, because we do not look for thigns that can be seen are temporary,  but things that can not be seen are eternal."

Thank you for supporting all of us during these times of health issues and pain and suffering. Also please pray for our blogging friend Andrea and her husband. She says they believe he has prostrate cancer and the specialist has not returned their calls. They need answers. Please pray.

Nick will be seeing his specialist this week with his results and we will go from there. Thank you again. Prayers are far reaching and God answers each prayer in His time. Thank you again.

A Quick Note

As soon as Nick gets answers to this health crisis I will be able to be back to the blog. Until we know anything certain I don't feel comfortable talking about it.

If you pray, please do so. He does have a great doctor so that is a great thing.

Thank you for your support.

Tuesday4 and Happy Tuesday

Tuesday4  Hosted by Annie

By the Seas, By the Sea, By the Beautiful Sea

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we give you 4 questions each week to stimulate thought and conversation on the net.

This week it might be nice to talk about the seashore.

1, If you lived by the sea would you like to own a boat  and what would you name it?

Yes it would be wonderful to own a boat. I water skied when I was very young so that would be great.

A name, Agua Princess. Agua is Water in Spanish and one of the few words I can recall. A Water Princess would be a perfect name for my boat.

2.Do you enjoy beachcombing? What do you like to find...shells? sea glass? driftwood?

I haven't been to the beach in a while but I love shells. On Lake Erie, we found some beautiful sparkling rocks. I Love sand dollars and still have a few plus sand from a beach in Mexico my niece gave me after her honeymoon . I would would some sea glass and driftwood is popular to make lots of DIY Projects into great household items these days.

                                                                       Catalina Island

3. Do you have a favorite beach or seaside resort that you enjoy? Tell us a little about it please. If the beach isn't your thing what is and where do you like to go?

Catalina Island is a favorite place and I pray I am going to be able to get my husband there. It is such a romantic place and my favorite thing were the glass bottom boats. The first visit I had there was with girlfriend. The second time I visited was with a guy my girlfriend fixed me up with. He locked me and my oldest girl Noelle in his house when he went to work. I called my girlfriend Barb, we went out the window and we never saw him again. It sure was not a romantic visit hahaha....But Catalina is so pretty and I want to take my sweet husband there. He has not been to the beach. I have visited the Padre Islands in Texas, the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and  on the water in Louisana , Mrytle Beach in SC and of course the Pacific ocean in California. I am a Colorado native so I love the mountains too and my favorite places are  Rye, Colorado  and San Isabel, Telluride and Avalanche Ranch .

Evangola State Park, Western NY on Lake Erie

San Isabel National Forest

You have not lived until you step into a hot springs at Avalanche Ranch while the snow falls around you. It is a magical place to visit. Carbondale, Colorado.

4. You are out and about at the seaside and you are so hungry. What foods are you going to try? What about a tropical cocktail? Have one in mind?

At the beach I love anything seafood related.I love a Pina Colada so that is my go to drink although I hve been told that I make the best Pina Coladas. A Chi Chi is similar too. We love the old TV series "Mamas Family". In an episode where she wins a trip to Hawaii she is drinking chi chi's. But those were non alcoholic. hahaha So at the end when she finds this out, she switches to her usual, that she drinks at home, a beer!

Happy Tuesday

I thought these two blog hops fit perfectly together today. I hope you will visit both and share some happiness and seaside thoughts too.

Maxine has opinions everywhere. Here she is at the beach. But she sure has a point here.....

Before I close, my friend who is a native of Japan, mentioned that Honolulu Hawaii and Denver Colorado have about the same cost of living. She loves Hawaii as it is halfway to here in Colorado and halfway to Japan where she often meets her phamily. That is in travel time for each of them coming from those countries Japan and USA.

Aw...Mondays and More

This is our life. Trying to get Hannah's old room organized for their stay with us later this month.  I think this is our new motto. We get things done, it just takes a lot longer.

Enjoying these days with my sweetheart.  This is us. Yesterday we gave Rebekah and Zach a ride to the light rail and Avery wanted a DQ Dilly Bar. So guess where we went? I had a small strawberry malt and he had a Dilly Bar. Love always sweet for me.

When Don Mattingly played for the New York Yankees he was known at the "Hit Man". This was actually a poster and many people had it gracing their walls.

Our oldest son Jeremy married April 30, 2016 to Brittany. Here we are all cleaned up and looking pretty and handsome.

I was taking photos of fences today. This one near a bank they are tearing down and rebuilding has a pretty pink tree blooming .

Feline Friday and More

I am not a fan of Jerry but I sure love Tom. He seems to be outsmarted by this annoying little mouse but there are times when they come together and defend each other. It is my favorite cartoon and Avery and I have at least 4 Tom and Jerry t shirts. Please visit Feline Friday

"I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It is not. Mine had me trained in two days." Bill Dana

Ellen and Lorianne share the honor of hosting this blog hop.  They each think of these things for us to answer. It is fun and if you have not joined in please do.

1. In May, I may ____________________.

2. Ten years ago I was ________________.

3. I hope for a future in which ________________________.

4. I would probably last _____________in solitary confinement.

My answers:

1. In May, I may be married for 38 years. I am excited because it is a few days away from our anniversary and I am happy my honeywill be here for the next four days.

2. Ten years ago I was unhappy in a job and grateful, although it was difficult financially. to be let go from that horrible place.

3. I hope for a future  in which the elderly and children are respected. I do know when this world is fading away Jesus will accept all the children to come home with Him and He loves each living thing.

4. I would probably last one or two days in solitary confinement.

Pink Saturday

Do you have a hat for the Kentucky Derby? I use to buy one every year and a few years ago the Derby joined the Woke culture so I don't buy a hat anymore. But I will always love the horses and I love to hear their stories. I hope you visit the Pinkies and share your favorites too.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Today I had to pick up a prescription for my husband. When I got to the store, the pharmacy said it would be tonight after 5 o'clock. I did some shopping and did not realize I had a shopping cart with a bad wheel. Not a wonky wheel, but a wheel that the  thick rubber was falling off the metal wheel. I realized this when I put a 40 pack of bottles water in my cart! It nearly flipped over.

I went to the front of the store and replaced my cart with all the groceries I had already put in the other cart. I told two women working at the customer service center. I sure hope they told whoever takes the bad carts out of the way because the next person mght be injured and sue them!

I had a really nice cashier check out my groceries. So it was a thankful experience. When I started to put the groceries in my car a customer approached me. She was a small lady, about 5 feet tall and said she would put my cart up for me. She helped me load the water and other big items in my car anf then pit my cart up. That was really thankful to have such  a nice person help me in that way.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I was yelling at my TV this afternoon as the Rockies could not win a game against the Phillies. Their coach is supposedly a former major league pitcher. Thus my baseballism.  When a pitcher allows two runs to score even though the batter did not get a hit but rather a free pass, or walk, and does it again, he needs to remove that pitcher! Unfortunately for the Rockies, their coach let the pitcher allow 4 free passes for the Phillies. The Phillies acted like they just won the World Series. I had hoped that woke culture would not seep into the MLB but unfortunately it has. Everyone gets a trophy so no body cries!  Not thankful for this kind of behavior but always thankful for the dad I had who knew the game and played it with passion and love. Very thankful

Happy Tuesday and Maxine Cracks Me Up Tuesday4 Wordless Wednesday

 Happy Tuesday

This is a good way to catch a S M I L E !

Pink and Blue Skies. I have files filled with sky shots. H A P P Y!

Maxine will always makes us laugh out loud. I prefer staying in hotels on vacation. I don't like to put anyone out.  Maxine may be just a tad nosey. hahahaha But she sure makes me H A P P Y !

1. If you had 1 million dollars to spend only on yourself, what would you spend it on?

I would buy  a beautiful home with lots of land and lots of animals so I could entertain anyone who would need a place to get away too. I just don't think I could spend it on myself alone. It needs to spread joy to others. A home in the mountains because I love my home state of Colorado for it's natural beauty. This might be a place I would love to share with others.  This log cabin home would be perfect although thr larger home would accomodate more guests!

2. You can do it again. What decade are you going back to and why? What's the attraction?

Definetly the 1960's. People believed in our country, we fought for what was right and everything seemed almost ideal. The music was the best there was. Prices for homes were low and cars were more durable and made with USA American made steel. We believes in our beautiful USA. People cared about each other. No one had their cell phones in their hand with their heads hang over them. Life seemed more exciting and we were boys and girls when we went to school. We were raised well and were not allowed to bully or not be kind. I miss that so much. Today is such a self centered world. It is Me! Me! Me! Children bury their faces in lap tops and video games. We played outdoors We were healthy. Everyone knew everybody on their block and in my neighborhood,  everyone knew your name. Many mom's stayed home and raised us, and those that could not, had a phamily of relatives, usually grandma's and auntie's who helped.  We were raised with faith, phamily and R E S P E C T! We had good manners. My, how times have changed!

I loved my 1972 canary yellow Dodge Dart. Although I can not find a photo of my first car that I worked hard to pay for, I do have one of my hand-me-down  Chevy Impala my brother gave me with a 327 engine . It was fire engine red with a white hard top and two door.  It was a cool car.  This is an ancient picture but boy I loved driving this car. Life in the 60s was more simple and cars were classics.

3. What's the last song that got stuck in your head? Alternatively, what's your current favorite? song?
Hanging out with toddlers songs like "Baby Shark" and "I Love You, You love Me", those songs stick in my head. One of my all time favorite songs is "Blessed Assurance" and "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands". I love Blessed Assurance because although she was bed ridden and blind it is one of the many hymns Fanny Crosby wrote during her lifetime. He's Got the Whole World, was a childhood memory that will forever be in my mind. I loved knowing that God was so big, He could actually hold all of us in His hands! I am a music lover although I have zero musical talent. My auntie Ang taught me the words to "Que Sera Sera" by Doris Day.  I often think of her and Doris Day and that beautiful song. Auntie Ang also taught me all about "The Phantom of the Opera". My dad loved Mario Lanza and Jim Reeves. Two entirely different types of music.  So it is hard to pick just one.

4. What items do you miss from the past and wish they were still around?

Number one would be my parents and other loved ones. Although I would never want them to see the condition of our world today, I would love to sit and chat with them. I miss places like Furr's Cafeteria and Marie Callender's and wish they were still around. The food they served was so good and these places no longer exist here. There are some penny candy treats I would love to have like candy shaped like watermelon slices that we could purchase at Bollinger's Confectionary. That landmark is also long gone and soda fountains and Woolworth's Stores and their old fashioned lunchettes. Ah...those were the days...

Aw...Mondays and Love is...

Did you know that Garfield has been around since 1978? His creator Jim Davis grew with 25 cats.  I am guessing he  was a cat lover. He wanted to do something to break  away from the dominant dog comic market. At the height of his daily comic in most newspapers across the country,  he gained 200 million readers who grew to love his comical, cartoon cat.

Garfield is a lazy cat. He loves to eat, especially lasagna. He is grumpy too and he loves to torment the poor dog, Odie.

Garfield has been quite a celebrity. He made two movies .  He worth a tidy sum of money as well.

I don't mind Monday's  but Garfield hates them! I think someone should make him some lasagna.

Love is... always knows...

"And it is not obvious that, just as it is a crime to disturb the peace when truth reigns , it is also a crime to remain at peace when the truth is being destroyed." Blaise Paschal

Enjoy your Monday. The month is nearly gone and we are hopeful for some May flowers in place of all the cold and wind we have had.

A reminder I do have the correct mailing address for Lavoice is anyone wishes to send her a card. She is in assisted living and not having anyone to talk with or send cards, her niece said she is sad. email me for her address there, thank you,  when she blogged her blog was called Thoughts from Mimi's Corner.

Aw...Mondays Here was some of our Easter . We celebrated with brunch at Jeremy and Brittany's house. Colton is on the road battling the snowy states of Montana, North and South Dakota and Jacey had to work so Noelle and Roger brought Harrison and Shea. What fun we had. Blake was still feeling under the weather so he was taking a nap when we took this photo of Harrison, Brody and Shea.

I forgot to take photos of the delicious food. We had a beautiful ham, has brown casserole, cinnamon roll casserole, eggs cooked to order by Jeremy. We had bacon and fresh fruit, yummy lemon, raspberry and cinnamon  bread. It was a great time. So many great dishes, I may have forgotten some of them!

These two guys were discussing school. At one point I heard Brody tell Harrison, you know I go to school, I am four now. They ate and played and had lots of fun. They thought they would get out of pick up duty with toys strewn in three rooms. Grandpa Avery said I don't think you two can pick up all these toys before I count to fifty! They went to town and had about 15 seconds left when the area was clean again.

Hungry kids are happy kids when their tummies are full!

Me and my guys! When people tell me they don't like taking their picture, I have to tell them the story of  Julie, another blogger who had a dear friend Aledia. She never took photos with her kids and one weekend they took a photo. The next day she passed away from a car accident. Julie decided to honor her friend by sharing photos of her own kids and spouse with her. She really encouraged many of us to do the same. I make the kids take photos, because we never know if it will be our last one together.

All the girls and dad . Brody snuck in one photo and we were happy he did!

Love is...makes me smile.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a wonderful Easter celebrtion or Passover. I love hearing about those that celebrate and their traditions. Have a great week.

Feline Friday and Friendly Fill In's and Pink Saturday

 Feline Friday

The  C A T collage. This cat has the life of Riley. Maybe that should have been his name!

Ellen and Lorianne share hosting duties with Friendly Fill In's. They each think of two of these questions for us to answer. Thank them while you join the fun and answer these.

1.I hope the Easter Bunny bring me __________________.

2. My favorite part of the Easter (or Passover) meal is__________________.

3. I'm most looking forward to _________________this weekend.

4. For me, this time of year is __________________.

My answers:

1. I hope the Easter Bunny brings me one day closer to seeing Jesus face to face but chocolate will be nice too..

2. My favorite part of the Easter (or Passover) meal is being with loved ones and enjoying a good meal with them while reflecting on the year so far.

3. I'm most looking forward to seeing my chiro doc this weekend. Still working on that kink in my neck and shoulder.

4. For me, this time of year is bittersweet. I have had many losses and it is always difficult. Spring renews the earth. Life goes on but having lost so many loved ones, it is not easy.

Pink Saturday  Perhaps you will visit Beverly and the Pinkies. You can share your pink too.

A pretty pink Pinterest find. Pink is a happy color. Do you like it or not? On the TV series back in the 1960's "Green Acres" Lisa and pink appliances in her farmhouse kitchen.

I could not find images of Lisa's kitchen but here is a vintage stove in pink from Pinterest.

Here is a Pink Maytag Vintage washing machine. My mom had a white one for many years. That wringer was something else. Back in mom's day, they did not need a gym membership, they used the washer's wringer.

An Easter share. Jesus is the Lamb of God. The b/w photo is my late mother-in-law holding a lamb on their phamily farm. Happy Easter to all.

Going to my mammogram and bone density. Say a good prayer. I will visit later today. Love you all.
