A Traveling We Will Go

When we visited Hannah and Jake last week, we had the pleasure of enjoying an old fashioned bonfire. They had saved up all the wood from cleaning up around their property to have a bonfire. I love the country because you do not have all the city rules although I Have a few neighbors who occasionally bend those rules. The fire kept us warm on a crisp evening and we enjoyed conversation. The wind was not blowing on us so we never ever smelled the smokiness on our clothing or hair. Pure joy for me. I love the little things in life and always will. Simplicity is such a joyfulness for me.
The kids sent us this photo yesterday. They were enjoying an extra day together before Jake headed back to work. They have the loveliest home and we enjoyed their company. Hopefully we did not annoy them! HeeHeeHee!
Thinking of Ravi Zacharias today. Having lost this Apologist of the gospel only last week I am smiling as he has come full circle and has settled into Paradise. I will miss him and his heart for Jesus and his love of the gospel. I know sir, you are resting in peace.
A brilliant man with the most incredible heart for his faith. I am going to miss him very much.
I am not so interested in traveling the world anymore. I would rather  finish seeing our country before it is no more. Our quick trip to Hannah and Jake's made our week. We were refreshed and relaxed. Life is funny. It goes by fast. It is fleeting. Enjoy as much of it as you can.
This is a constant at our house. Doesn't matter what time of day or the year or the times. It is always Mister Kitty bullying the pups or Leo bullying the cat! I am unable to load anymore photos from our trip until my hubby has time to do it on his end. My phone does not have the storage space.

Hellllo over there! Gosh, I've not enjoyed a bonfire since my college days. Sounds silly I know, but I always fret when Tom's burn barrel gets to throwing up flames. When we lived in dry, dry, dry West Texas my former hubby accidentally set our fence and the neighbor's wood pile aflame before the firefighters were able to extinguish everything.
I was sure surprised and saddened to learn of Ravi's passing. What a legacy he's left.

Sounds like a wonderful visit.

Like you, i no longer really want to travel the whole world. A few places i would like to see, but if i never do, it's fine.

Ravi Zacharias is going to be very, very sorely missed. My hope is his work in apologetics will go on through his organization.

I'd still love to travel the world, but learning to be content when I don't get farther than places I can walk to. So grateful for friends and family that keep in touch and take me to places around the world.

Ravi Zacharias is from Atlanta. Andy - grandson - got to see his last speech live at Passion this past December in Atlanta. We saw his message to the kids. What a wonderful man and horrible loss. His memorial is on YouTube - 3 hours.

Sweet photo of Jake and Hannah. The bonfire sounds lovely. I remember visiting Williamsburg VA one Christmas and bonfires were set up in various places for guests to warm up and join carolers!

Hi nice to meet you!
I like Ravi's quote, and I am a firm believer in Science and the teachings of Christ myself. I rely on facts, and am a child of the universe too. I admit, hearing about the bonfire put fear in me... my neighbors like to have enormous bonfires in a firepit! In all the constant wind that is Aurora. The smoke is toxic, and gives me nosebleeds that need cauterization so... glad yours was "out in the country" What a beautiful couple in the picture, they seem open and friendly. LeeAnna

Hi, thanks for visiting me. Wow, your purple blog is gorgeous!! I am glad you got to visit with your kids during the pandemic. I bet it was so nice to be out in the country. and now it seems to be one of the safest places! We live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and are Mennonites.

I too love the little things in life. I like to watch bonfire and see the flying fire sparks in the dark. I too will miss Ravi Zacharias, a great man of God. Like the image of the cat on top of the dog. It is a cat and dog kind of world we live in. Happy Wednesday!Take care and stay safe.

I read your comment on LV's blog about the old days of pink Saturday. I haven't blogged for a long time and decided to start up again not like I used to but just for myself. I found that after being dormant for a number of years I could look back over my almost 600 posts and it was a timeline of what was happening in my life at that time. I'm with you on traveling the country, I want to see our great nation before it is no more. God bless.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! It's so great that you had a chance to visit. Your cat vs. dog picture made me smile. I have 2 cats. They usually get along pretty well, but occasionally Sparrow smacks Herbie! Have a good week.
