I wanted to remind everyone how important kindness it. Our phamily has been blessed by it since the boys, our grandsons, were in the terrible car accident with there dad Jeremy October 9, 2024.
So many kindnesses. So many kind hearts out in this world. Do not believe what you hear on the news, they are not telling you the truth.
Martha, from the encouragement group I belong to, sent the boys hand embroidered pillowcases. They were tickled to have their names printed out in red letters. It was a very thoughtful gift.
My friend Sharlene who I have not seen in person in probably 30 years, said she was praying for the boys and their dad and family. Than she donated to the fund set up for them. Today is the anniversary of her mother's passing. So I am way behind contacting people doing all these wonderful things for our phamily. I talked with her privately and reminded her I am that orphan too and my mom's anniversary is tomorrow. So we had a nice chat. Kindness.
I spoke with Avery's cousin Carolynn. She is a retired nurse and has a big phamily of her own. She sent money to the kids and has them on her church prayer list too. I try to send updates as often as I can so I will share that today here too.
Brody's neuro docs are so happy with his progress, his successes and the fact that he is knocking his PT out of the park. In a couple of weeks they will take him back to surgery and remove the wire in his right leg. Than he will find out how soon he can walk on it again. He uses his walked and wheelchair but he wants to get up and move. He does get some headaches if the school gets too noisy or the lights are too bright. I understand that as I had lot of neurosurgery in my 30's and I remember those headaches well. They do go away as the years go by. I told Brody this so he has an ally in the headache dept.
Blake had lots of appointments two days ago. The retina specialist found blood and some scarring behind his right eyes. So they will need to go take care of that is a few weeks and than in 6 months he will need more surgery. He is able to see up close but not far away. There is no tablet time on that as of yet. Prayer is so welcomed.
Saturday November 16th is the anniversary of my mom's passing. It is usually a very difficult day for me but since the accident, spending extra time with the boys is such a priority and we love our Saturdays when we can be with the kids. Today was no exception. My mom always told me how important phamily was so she would love to know that we value our loved ones just like she and my dad did.
Mom with Rebekah (1988) and me. She was great grandma. A great mom, wife, sibling, daughter. The list goes on and on. Missing her but knowing how proud she would be to see Avery and I put our phamily first.
Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.
