Checking in to say hi. I feel so badly for missing you all and neglecting my blogs. Lots going on for us, but everything seems to be in happy mode! After my surgery March 3, 2025 I was miserable. I don't like to put that on others so I stayed quiet. I will say the one negative which I truly dislike is the fact that my surgeon never once mentioned I could and I do have permanent nerve damage in my neck. I know how blessed I am to have survived it all but that was a hard pill to swallow. The only advice doctors seem to dole out is, we have give you medication to help! No thank you. I have better methods to deal with it, it just took a long while.
So on to better days...yesterday we attended the sweet little church our grand daughter Jacey attended when she was a youngster. The pastor who celebrated sweet Alastor Avery's short life in 2019 for the phamilies and spoke at our son-in-law Roger's celebration of life in December 2022 is still that same wonderful kind hearted gentle man. So Jacey said let's all go to church together. Rebekah our middle and Avery, my husband's twin (they are both middle children) mentioned it to Jacey and as these precious gals attended our city's meetings regarding several issues these past two years. Pastor was criminally fined for feeding the homeless in our city's park. It is a very sad situation but our girls went to bat for him so he was able to sit with some city officials and talk respectfully about this difficult subject.
The homeless crisis is all over our country. If compassionate people do not reach out and feed them are any of us really following Jesus? It is a hard question many officials do not like to address. Sweep it aside and it should disappear.
We attended church with the pastor and his small but amazingly wonderful congregation last weekend. They share a church building with another pastor so they celebrate on Saturday. It was a wonderful service and the young people impressed us. They were worshipping with their whole hearts. Kids today have so much thrown at them, school shootings, bullying, all the craziness of the world . Something my generation never had to deal with. I never regret one moment I spent worshipping in church as a kid.
At church this weekend many in the congregation spoke about needs. One gentleman is involved with an organization that helps provide wells for clean water in small villages in many third world countries. One gentleman spoke as he and his wife were once homeless and that is something he knows first hand about. I personally felt the Holy Spirit moving in church yesterday. A lady spoke about spending time at a Jewish synagogue in our suburbs where she learned much about her Jewish history she was unaware of. Although this particular synagogue has had many threats they keep worshipping. Other people from the congregation spoke about needing prayer for others and shared many answers to prayer as well.
The music, which pastor also participates in was wonderful and I love the simplicity of the church. They serve dinner afterwards. Our kids Rebekah and Zach and grandson Colton and grand daughter Jacey and their two kids Harrison and Shea stayed to visit with others and enjoy the wonderful meal. Avery and I had to skedaddle. The B& B brothers were at their late summer baseball league. Oh the joy of watching them. Both teams played really well and it was fun to see them. They just returned from their Disneyland adventure.
A game so fine it's played on diamonds!
The boys have two more games this weekend and next. Then they will start flag football in November indoors. Keeps them busy. Yesterday celebrated their one year anniversary since their accident. We are all so extremely grateful for their recovery. Our son Jeremy is doing well also.
Next week I will snap a few photos at church. It is so nice to be here with you and thank you for the friendships.
I hope you visit Mimi and share your feline too. I will get back into the regular groove soon. Thanks!

I am glad to see you back in action and recovering from surgery. Disappointing that the nerve damage occurred. Your church visit sounded very uplifting with an active congregation in fellowship and helping people.
Hi Terra, I am anxious to get back into the blog world friends! Thank you for your kind words. We had attended a larger church but this one is close to home and very comfortable with a variety of people of all ages but surprisingly so many younger teens and it made me so happy. Take care.
I am glad to see you back. I am sorry you have nerve pain in your neck and know it must be hard to bear. When I had chemotherapy last year I started to get tingling in my fingers and toes. My consultant reduced the dosage twice but said if it worsened I would have to discontinue the treatment. I was only 4 months through it and knew it was my last chance so decided to continue. I didn't know how bad the neuralgia would be with no feeling in my feet but pain in my toes. My fingers are minimal and I can manage with that. Although it has given me very limited mobility, I know I made the right choice as I am still here to talk about it.
The cat and kitten are adorable.
It's lovely to hear from you and all the good news, and all the not so great things, too. When we know what's wrong, we know what to pray about! You're in my heart and thank you so much for linking up with Feline Friday.
So happy you are back with us. I am sorry you are still dealing with nerve pain in your neck. I know how miserable that it. I pray you can find relief without having to take pain medication. I'm so happy your grandsons are doing so well after all they went through last year. That is a miracle in itself! Praise God. Yes, there is so much sorrow and hardship in this world. We all do what we can wherever we are to help, but this world needs Jesus so badly. Praying for many to come to Jesus. I love your cat photo. So sweet. Have a blessed day, and welcome back!!!
I am sorry that you have had such a rough time. That is very true in our country, many doctors really push the drugs. Love your quote about baseball! So fine it is played on diamonds, I love that. I also don't regret one minute I spent in church as a child, I am most grateful. May I tell you that you have a typo? Instead of Holy Spirit you typed "Holt" Spirit. It made me think though, the way country folks here would say that they grabbed a holt of sonething. May the Holy Spirit always grab a holt of us! Amen, sister!
It's good to see you here.
I'm sorry about the nerve damage. Chronic pain is a hard thing to deal with.
Glad you had this special time with the church.
What a blessing to see how well the boys are doing!
once we stop blogging it is hard to get going again. I only stopped for 3 weeks and found it hard, but am getting back each day, I will have to take a few days off because this coming week is full of doc appts for bob and for me and his home health rns... I am so sorry you have the pain from damaged nerves, it is very hard to treat, and the meds that help with it have terrible side effects. bob found that out with 2 rx he had to stop because they made him crazy
oops, old brain issues. forgot to say the church sounds wonderful, like the ones I attended as a child. the homeless situation has my heart and I worked with a church ministry for 2 years and then the pastor got a bee in his bonnet and every one was fighting and they stopped the ministry and we left the church.
any and all can in the blink of an eye be homeless. I was homeless for 8 weeks, but stayed with my aunt on her sofa, while finding a job to move here. not everyone has someone to help them get started. just miss a paycheck and you are close to be homeless, once behind is hard to over come
Oh, does that precious kitten have extra thumbs? My Heather had that kind of polydactylism and actually got some use out of her extra thumbs, though she acted as if they embarrassed her.
I wish the polydactylism still ran in the family, but it seems to have died with Heather. Her great-niece, who currently runs the Cat Sanctuary, has normal paws and takes no interest in the Petfinder photo contests, but I do them on the chance that they'll help animals find homes.
Welcome back. It's really nice to see you again.
I'm sorry about the nerve pain in your neck. That must be a real challenge.
Wow, I had to read that part of your blog twice to make sure I read it right the first time. Arresting a pastor for feeding the homeless? What was his crime?
Sorry that you are now dealing with chronic nerve pain. I hope you can find a non drug way to help.
How nice to find such a vibrant church. What a blessing that is.
If we don't help homeless people how are they ever going to get back on their own two feet?
I just came across your blog today and wanted to wish you good health and happiness. The cats ๐ ๐ป ๐⬛️ are beautiful and precious.
Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada ❤️ ๐ ๐จ๐ฆ
Thank you for sharing your story on pain. I appreciate you more than you know. It is always good to reach out to others. I am so grateful for you.
I am going to try to be better at blogging. Somedays are crazy around here. Our kids were on a mini vacay with our SIL Zach's sister & her husband and kids and his mom and her new beau. So these five puppies need lots of extra attention. Thanks for yur wonderful friendship.
You're a sweetheart. Thank you for always being such a kind heart. We need Jesus and we need Him soon. HUGS
Thank you for the typo! I did correct it. Blogger changed their correcting methods and I don't like that if you miss something, it just sits there. I am not tech savvy anyway. Haha I like your take on the typo. You made me smile.
Thank you! Glad to see you here. Those boys have come a long way. We sure are grateful to God and for all the prayers that were sent up. They are doing well although Blake has that right eye without much vision. He is a real trooper. Thanks for being here.
Thanks for being here. I will always be praying for you and Bob and appreciate you. Life is hard and we do the very best we can. Thank you for sharing about the pain meds. Take care.
Amen! On the homeless issues. Anyone can end up there. Friends of my SIL Lucy, Bob and Billie Jean they were inching their way to have their home paid off when their daughter got into drugs as well as her child who has a child! Now in their old age they have to remortgage their home because this is going to be long term and raise their great grand child. I appreciate you sharing your own story. Nick, our youngest, worked in a men's homeless shelter. An elderly gentleman passed away one night and after seeing that death stare him in the face, Nick had to find other work. He said many younger homeless guys would tell him they do not want your money they would take a simple hello instead. He did see one kid get back on his feet with a job where he was going to be able to get his child out of the foster system. I know many people hate making eye contact with the homeless. They are simply human beings down on their luck. Pastor is trying to find other ways to serve the homeless community. The church they are in is small and they share it with another church so each church has other responsibilities. The city has always been a bully to them but when the police speak out how they :hate: them that makes me so sad. They had an officer who said it out loud. He needs a different job. Kindness goes so much farther than meanness. Thanks for being here.
I think that is more common than not with the extra thumb. But I found that share on Pinterest. I need to better organize all my pet photos so I can use them. Homeless pets are a serious issue too. A friend of mine, her younger sister was a journalist for years, when they told both sides of the story. But she retired, has a house full of adopted pets and worked in a pet shelter. The person running it was taking funds for herself and my friends sister spoke up about it. It is sad to see that happen. Many are saintly though, helping animals suffering in terrible situations. Someone in this city where we live had 77 living animals in their home. It was awful and so many shelters are overwhelmed already. But the city started making all these laws how many pets you can have. We have 5 small long haired chihuahuas. The chief of police has talked at length with our middle daughter who lives with us along with her husband and made them grandfather in those of us who have more than 2 pets and are responsible pet people. The city attorney and chief are the only ones who sided with our girl. The rest are just looking for their next vote! Its so frustrating. Thanks for being here and for all you do pets too.
Thank you. Oh the city likes to throw around their control over the people. He can no longer feed them in the park. What's crazy is he and his volunteers do the clean up plus a gentleman and his wife who were once homeless themselves. But the political machine thinks they know better! Than do something about the tremendous homeless problem! Instead of whining about someone trying to help fed these folks. Homeless started to go up when the hospitals dumped their mental health programs. I know because my late friend Maria worked for a top doctor at the UCHSC. Once they stopped treating the mentally ill homelessness popped up all over the Denver metro area. Too little too late I say. But people doing the Lord's work are not easily offended and will find a way to continue this program. We keep praying. I will keep you posted too. Thanks for being here. HUGS
Thank you yes. Without help how can people ever get back to standing on their own. I see homeless people in the stores always. Many are older, probably getting SS disability or retirement. All they want is a kind word. Life is hard so we can pray and we can donate so pastor can continue his work. Our youngest girl lives in Western NY and their pastor just returned from Pakistan. Lots to pray about. Their pastor and his oldest son do lots of missionary work short term helping where they are needed. Thank you for being here.
Hello and thank you. I miss my two cats and our sons one cat but only our son-in-law has lil Daphne. She is hard to capture. She stays close to Zach while he works and then in her window perch. She was a throw away kitten found in a dumpster by his sister. All the other kittens perished but Daphne was strong. She is very tiny too. When they were out of town I would fed her and she would look at me as if to say thank you for my food and fresh cold water. She has kind eyes. I am in Colorado USA.
