Tuesday 4/ Friendly Fill In's and Feline Friday

 STAYING PUT MOVING ON

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
Sometimes we live in the same place where we were born and remain there all of our lives.
Sometimes we move away and never come back because of jobs, marriage, circumstances of all kinds.
Sometimes we choose where we will live and we have definite reasons for staying there even though we might be far from family.

1. Are you far from family and if so why? Would you like to have them closer and have you discussed that with them? All of our children are very close to us except one. Hannah and her husband and little boy are in upstate NY. My sister & one brother are 120 miles away from me and another brother about 1 hour away.

2. How did you come to live in the state you are in? How about the city/town. Both my husband Avery & I are Colorado born & raised. We have lived in this state our entire lives. He has lived in the Denver metro area since his 20's but I have been here in the Denver area since July 1983. My husband lived in KC, MO and Las Vegas, NV too. Ah...youth!

3. What good things keep you living where you are?
What's good about your state and town? We love Colorado except for the politics. We have lots of sunshine even on days when it is raining or snowing. There are lots of things to do and we love it. We love our town and neighborhood but the city recently put in place this pet limit. Instead of going after those who mistreat their pets, those who let them run wild even though there is a leash law and those that just don't care about their pets. But now we all suffer. Our daughter Rebekah went up against the city and we will remember this when it is time to vote. But of all the people there, the chief of police, the city attorney they stuck behind her when she spoke at a town meeting. So all the council people will hopefully be booted at the next election.

4. What things might convince you to move to another state or just another town?  My lifelong friend Karen and her husband Chris live in Boise, Idaho. It is my kind of place. The citizens rule, the police protect the citizens and if we could move it is the one place we would go. Their governor is no nonsense and they do not have the illegal problem so many of this sanctuary cities and states have. They have homeless people but nothing like we have.  I would also love to be a homeowner in our hometown. But unfortunately the liberal government has literally destroyed our town with drugs and illegals and homelessness and they could care less about their citizens who pay the taxes. My once beautiful childhood neighborhood as well as my husband's has been turned into a real hell hole! Very tragic and sad but again when the people keep electing the same sorry government you can not expect anything much. Like jobs or low crime.

"We have, as all will agree, a free Government, where every man has a right to be equal with every other man. In this great struggle, this form of Government and every form of human right is endangered if our enemies succeed." Abraham Lincoln

Felix the Cat was a favorite of mine and I always wanted the wall clock of Felix with his tail as the pendulum. Stop by and say hi to Mimi today.

Ellen and her co host Lorianne choose what we fill in. Thank these ladies for keeping this meme going.

 1. I know you are __________________when________________________.

 2. I am pleased with ____________________.

 3. I wish I had the super power of ______________so I could __________.

 4. I still have _________________from my childhood.

My answers:

 1. I know you are an animal lover when you care about pets so much.

 2. I am pleased with the results of my five star pancake recipe which I misplaced a long time ago. I made a batch today and they were delicious.

 3. I wish I had the super power of making lots of money so I could renew the old neighborhoods where Avery & I grew up.

 4. I still have all my memories in my heart from my childhood.

" A house is made of bricks and beams. A home is made of hopes and dreams."

"The magic thing about home is it feels good to leave and feels even better to come back."

So, you love Colorado? I have never really been out west. I bet it is pretty out there.

We would move, but my parents won't and they are elderly and we can't leave them.

Felix the Cat was fun, maybe you could still find the wall clock someday.

Five star pancakes, it sounds like one winner of a recipe.

Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

I've never been to Colorado but have seen so many photos of how beautiful it can be. I'm sorry about all the homelessness and other issues. We have the same here too but I guarantee it isn't the fault of the Liberals. We've had many different parties ruling in my province and city and the problem has been under the rule of every one of the parties. It seems to be a world wide problem.

I used to love Felix the cat! Our surname is the same as your husband's name. I was born in Plymouth Devon, UK and lived here all my life and only moved once before we were married. My husband was born in Widecombe in the Moor also in Devon. He moved with his family to a farm on the edge of Plymouth when he was four. He never really moved from there. We met at 17, married at 20, then we built a bungalow near the farmhouse and lived there for the last 54 years.

I'm so sorry to hear what's become of Colorado ... the place I once thought of as a paradise destination. Like you said, what can residents expect when they keep re-electing the same sorry libtards (sorry, not sorry).
I loved watching Felix; and actually, I'm singing the jingle -- or the parts I can remember.

PS - Good for Rebekah!

So sad to see the mess Colorado has become, Anne. Hope the people will figure it out and vote accordingly. So nice to have family living close, though. Blessngs!

We do love our home state. I have never been to Georgia and want to travel there as well as Arkansas where my late father-in-law grew up. My husband has cousins there in Arkansas too. I think each state has its beauty, at least the ones I have been to. I hope your weekend is great.

I understand your folks not moving. I think we all love where we live and sometime special people keep us nearby. I remember seeing the Felix clock for $25 now they are over $100. I will have to watch for a sale. heehee Yes pancakes are good for any meal especially in cooler weather. Have a wonderful weekend.

I agree everywhere can have its own problems. I remember a former talk host host here. She moved to England thinking it was the best and now she says she was mislead and is coming back to the states. I guess you think the grass can be greener on the other side and than find not everywhere has problems of their own. At least my dad would say that. He loved traveling but he also loved coming home. I hope your weekend is great.

You have a lovely story to tell. I think as a cat lover that Felix the cat is simply the cutest. But we love Tom & Jerry too and that mouse is the naughtiest lil thing. We have never been out of the US but I love living through others as they share their stories. It is a favorite thing about blogging. Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

hahaha some days it is hard for my sweet husband to head into work. There is so much homelessness and it is so sad.But we have it here too and it started several years ago. A kid at one of our favorite restaurants said he was getting off his bus which stops in front of his work and there were 5 greyhound buses dumping people off. He asked someone and they said they were picked up in Iowa, Indiana and Illinois and dumped here. I saw a homeless pay sitting on a curb a few days ago at Target. It is sad, because people complain and their security tells them to move. Some do not understand and I remember when the big research hospitals decided they no longer need mental health hospitals. So much sadness. Plus veterans, mostly Vietnam, lying in gutters downtown too. It is very tragic and the government just turns a blind eye. This new mayor in Denver said he would take care of it and it has gotten 10 times worse. These hopeless folks have no where to go. Plus crime is out of control. It is really awful. :; ( I am guessing it is not like this in resort areas. We go to Georgetown and Breckenridge and places in the mountains and we do not see these problems. I hope you and Tom are doing great.

I was chuckling about Felix not life as it is today. Felix was quite a joy when I was a kid.

It is sad but many big cities have these problems. We have it here too but our chief of police has great officers and they take care of us. In fact, we are heading to the park later for the food trucks. Rebekah & Zach scoped it out last night. She had an eye appointment than we can go there and see what looks good. Everything! That is the problem hahaha. The homeless problem in Denver is sad. Instead of helping these poor people the government there turns a blind eye. Plus all the protests . It is always something and makes a person wonder why so many people have no jobs or schools they should be at instead. But no one in authority seems to care anyway. Very sad. I just hope you have a great weekend.

I don't think any of us would move. But our girl in upstate NY lives in the country so they are more isolated from a lot of big city woes. Locally, we have good police protection. In fact later we are heading to the food trucks at the park . Rebekah & Zach scoped it out last night so we will go get some goodies. The police presence there is a good thing and often the fire & police have their vehicles up there. I am like a kid because I love talking with all the young officers that work in the beast, the SWAT truck. They let us go inside and check everything out. It is always fun to learn new things and I tell them all we pray for them.
