1. Time flies when _______________.

2. ______________takes forever.

3. _____________is my earliest memory.

4. Is it weird that I________________.

My answers:

1. Time flies when you are having fun! The days and months have been speeding by. But I am enjoying every second that I can.

2. Being helped at my local credit union takes forever, especially in the drive thru line. I preferit over having to go inside.

3. Having my mom accidentally shut the car door on my fingers is my earliest memory. It was an accident but that painful moment was hard to handle. I think I was about 3 years old.

4. Is it weird that I remember childhood memories more readily than what I had for dinner last night?

Pink Saturday Stop by to visit Beverly and all the Pinkies who participate. If you love pink you willbe happy here.

A beautiful pink sunset in the sky. I love these captures. Have a beautiful weekend and enjoy this new month of April.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Boys....thankful for them. Doubly thankful!

Thankful for Addy....she was in Boston and NYC last week for her Spring break with her classmates. She brought us this cool Robinson Tea Chest from Boston Tea Party 1771. We are so thankful for her thoughtfulness. We are doubly thankful for Addy being part of our phamily.

Last Monday I was dumping all the trash into the trach pick up containers. I turned wrong and have had a stiff and sore neck. Our chiro doc was out of town for Spring Break too. So we get to see him next Saturday. Very thankful.

So this has been me.......

March 27th was my big sister Pat's birthday and you know she left this earth in 2001. It is also the date we were told our unborn daughter Rachel Lee had passed away in 1987. It is a double difficult day for me.

Avery took a few days off and he had to have his Jeep in the shop. The water pump was going out. It was a good thing we had Eric check it out. He quoted us one price and it was over $100 less! Talk about being thankful.  He had the Jeep for two days they sent him the wrong part! We were thankful to get it fixed before it broke down during  busy rush hour traffic. Very thankful.

We also had to get two new tires for the Kia and our tire guy is always so helpful. He found a nail in one of the other tires and promptly fixed it! We have been blessed with good mechanics and other car care providers. Always thankful for them.

Feline Friday and Friendly Fill In's

Feline Friday

Grumpy Cat, I'm on a roll with this grumpy guy. He is protesting having to be Irish for one day. He isn't very friendly is he? I am not sure we'd want to kiss him. Hmmmm.....

Our middle daughter cherishes her Irish heritage and traveled to the country by herself in 2016. Best trip she took, she claims. S M I L E

Ellen and Lorianne share in choosing these words to share with us. Join in and think of your own answers here:

1. I rarely _______________, I _______________, instead.

2. My Spring to do list includes______________and______________.

3. If I were invidible for a day, I would _______________.

4. When I was young, I, _______________because ________________.

My answers:

1. I rarely go anywhere alone, I wait to go with my husband, instead.

2. My Spring to do list includes, changing my bedding and window curtains for Springtime (which I did yesterday!) and getting in that shed and garage when the snow stops falling.

3. If I were invisible for a day, I would  go out and help as many people as I could without them knowing it was me.

4. When I was young, I was shy, because I always wanted to be with my mom and dad. I Know, you would never know that about me today! hahaha

Enjoy your weekend. We had rain all afternoon and it is turning into snow. They say 4 to 10 inches. Who knows, it is like the Wheel of Fortune with our weather. No one knows where it will land and how long it will stay.

Be blessed and enjoy your day!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

     Wordless Wednesday

                                                         BOOTS 05/03/1998 - 03/16/2012

THANKFUL THURSDAY

 THANKFUL THURSDAY

Today I am most thankful for the fact that my sweetheart has a parking spot in the hotel parking across the bridge from his office.  He may pay a premium for it but he avoids all the germs on the light rail. Since RTD has not put the bus schedule back into place these past two years,  it is a real blessing to leave and get home timely rather than waiting in the cold or the heat for your ride.

I am also grateful for my favorite feline best friend Boots. Today he has been ten long years since he left me although I feel like he went away just yesterday. He was the very best cat to have ever lived and spent his time in my life. I remember the day I picked him up. He was the last of a large little of kittens. I am guessing because he was black with some white paws and a milk mustache, no one wanted him. Their loss. He was amazing and was a good friend for the years I had him. Miss you my sweet friend.

You are gone but never forgotten. I wish I had you still today. Thankful I had you for the short time I had you.  05-03-1998 - 03-16-2012

This girl Rose would have had her birthday today. What a wonderful life she had. She was Nick's constant companion. When he left for college I promised Nick I would make sure she stayed happy and and healthy. She did for a long while. She was a tough little kitty. She had a mean left hook. I always said if she was a person she would be left handed! She loved chicken and would turn her nose up to any other foods. Thankful to have had you Rose. You had a wonderful life. -3-16-2005 - 11-10-2019

Tuesday4 Happy Tuesday and Maxine Cracks Me Up with Stealing Sunday

 Tuesday 4

Here is a repeat of one of Toni Taddeo's last posts December 9, 2019. I wish I had known Toni. But I am here to answer these questions today. Thank you for including me.

1. When was the last time you tried something new?

2. Who in your family do you compare yourself to?

3. What lesson in life did you learn the hard way?

4. What can you do toay that you couldn't do before?

My answers:

1. When was the last time you tried something new?  I try lots of new new recipes but I alway think I am not as good a cook as my hubby. Yesterday I made a chicken enchildas casserole and made new changes. Everyone raved about it and it is almost gone already!

2. Who in your family do you compare yourself to? Although I can never be as amaazing as they were, my mom and grandmother. My mom rarely ate a phamily meal. She stood up taking care of everyone and that is me! Follwing in her footsteps. My grandmother was kind, simply kind, and I hope one day very soon I will be able to say I gave it a good shot, being as kind as she was. They were both prayer warriors and I am getting to be just like them and it makes me S M I L E !

3. What lesson in life did you learn the hard way? There were a few but one that stands out, I lent a girl I went to school with, and barely knew, a brand new blouse. I remember my mom saying to me, in a kind but stern voice, "With a friend like her, you'll never have any enemies."  You lose something you loved and you have to move it. Her lost really for being dishonest. It made me more mindful of people and honestly today, I am not as easy going as I once was. Once someone hurts you to the core, you never recover. You just stop trusting and  don't go around them anymore.

4. What can you do today that you weren't able to do before?  Read people more carefully. Not everyone is your friend and too many like to talk behind your back. My once wonderful circle of trusting souls is no more, except for my husband. I do have that relationship with my husband. But no one else. All my confidantes have gone to a better place. My greatest hope is that I will join them one day.

Sunday Stealing Quesrions to Ask Friends

I am late with this one but love answering these questions. Thanks Bev for doing this.

1, What emotion do you experience the most? Happiness usually. Although these Springtime months are hard for me. Lots of loss. Smeone said our paternal grandmother was born in March but that is untrue. She was a July baby like my dad and middle older brother. I have all the history about her.  I do love being happy. There is so much to be thankful for in my world.

2. What embarasses you most in front of other people? Not much. As I grow older I don't think things matter as much as we think they do when we are younger. I don't have a big fancy house, but I have a home with my loved ones in it.

3. What do you love most about yourself?  All the traits I inherited from my parents. I came from good, strong hard working people just like my husband too. So I don't get into the "I am to blame" for others problems. We all came from people who suffered and sacfrificed tremendously and I know both my grandparents and my husband's escaped difficulties in their former homelands for a better life here in the USA. I will never dishonor my loved ones for the ways of this wicked world.

4. Who has influenced you most? My mom, dad, maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather. They were all shining examples of how we should all be. Faithful to their maker and phamilies. They worked hard, took care of their own loved ones and others too.  They were kind, respectful, honest, good natured, and filled with love.

5. What would you like to change about yourself?  About 30 lbs. and stop being fearful over the ways of the world, as I have no cntrol over it. Only God does. Those are the two hardest things for me. PLus I love bread and sweet and I am learning they are best in moderation. (SMILE)

6. If you could do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would lend a helping hand to as many people as I possibly could.  I've always enjoyed helping when I am able. SO I would love to do it on a grander scale, just for the helping, not the accolades.

7. If you had the option of adopting a baby fox or a baby koala. which would it be?  The baby fox simply because koala's are more exotic and baby foxes are so cute. I love how they romp about in open spaces.

8. If you had to be on a reality show , which would it be? None! I am not interested in such things.

9. If you could live anywhere int he world for a year, where would it be? Maine, I know it is the second coldest state in the US (haha) but the scenery in the Autmn looks so breathtaking.

10. How many bones have you broken? None and I hope I never do.

11. What do you fear about getting older?  The disrespect, at least in the USA, that our leaders have for the elderly.

12. How do you relief stress? Laughter, music, being with those I love the most.

13. Are your feet the same size? Yes

14. 100 kitens or three baby sloths? Get out of town! Ha HaHa All of them. Thereis nothing better then sweet baby anythings.

15. What do you want more than anything else in life?  To be taken out of this world in the Rapture.

Happy Tuesday

This boy was so needy today. He would not leave my side. I couldn't get a thing done as he was up against me like glue. He's a real character. He is resting now and when you flip a light on, boy does he give you a look like A R G H ....! I am not sure we spent four solid hours together since he came here. But this morning,we sure did. HAPPY

"I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It's not. Mine had me trained in two days. " Bill Dana

Having had a cat for the past 24 years this one is by far the most needy, the most whiney and all in all the most unusally fellow. I think he just likes the company. HAPPY

Hoping the time change wasn't too traumatic for you. We worked all weekend long and entertained the boys, so we were tired and slept well. I hope you have a wonderful new week.  HAPPY

Aw...Mondays and Love is...

 Aw...Mondays

"My Little Guitar Man". We watched the boys Saturday for a few hours so mom and dad could have a peaceful dinner with their friends.  Our house is not peaceful with boys but this one is so in love with music. He goes downstairs at least ten times each timehe comes over, because he wants to strum Rebeah's guitar.  He is a real corker!

We have the most fun with these two fellows. Please do not think they had that bottle of wine behind them! hahaha Rebekah was putting things up when Brody needed to play the guitar . Their dad said all the way home last night they talked about their evening. They are so much fun and we get a full 8 hours of rest after they leave and we get ready for bed! They also love brushing their teeth and  blow dryer their hair, not together though! They are so hilarious. a few weeks ago Blake said I need to brush my teeth so I gave him a brand new toothbrush because I always stock up on extra for my guest. Brody walked in and said, why is my nrother brushing his teeth? Why don't I have a toothbrush here? hahaha

Of  course, I always have kid toothbrushes and toothpaste for the little ones. These two make us laugh and we do puzzles,  sidewalk chalk and of course, play the guitar. Last night I Put some music on and Blake said, you turn that off Grandma! I won't talk to you! Shea use to be that way too but Brody and Harrison James love music so they go along with me and wild dancing and singing and having fun.

We always say Aw........when they have to leave no matter what day of the week it is.

Love is...always is on target. They know exactly what we need and what we love.

Feline Friday

 Feline Friday

These cuties were in an ad for a pet supply place called Wired and this is their photo. These are the faces that capture and steal your heart.

What greater gift than the love of a cat. Charles Dickens This quote was taken from the Reader's Digest.

Ellen and Lorianne think up these great ideas and share them here with us. Come join the fun.

1. I love that____________________.

2.To celebrate pi day on Monday, I will have a slice of ____________________pie.

3. I'd like to be able to ____________________everyday.

4. If I ended up in jail, it would probably be because____________________.

My answers:

1. I love that my grandchildren love us and want to spend time with us.

2. To celebrate pi day on Monday, I will have a slice of  Key Lime pie.

3. I'd like to be able to listen to a person who went through war tell their story. We have become so callous, people push the old folks aside. I loved my late father-in-law telling me his antics in the US Navy when he was a young man.

4. If I ended up in jail, it would probably be because of my annoying neighbors. We call them the Witness Protection People". Three dogs who spend so much time out in the cold. I see him leave in the early morning hours. No, I am not nosey, I am like a small child watching my husband drive away. She must work from home because she never leaves. Their dogs should be inside and please don't tell me if you work on your phone you need peace & quiet. We sure do not have it here with their barking dogs all day long.

Such a cool pink scale. I saw it at Pinterest and someone uploaded it. She is Lyn Ella. I wonder if this is here scale? Love it!

I use to act like this on Friday's! I am so grateful I dont have to go into a work place. It is so weird today. Narcs all over the place, people afraid of dying, they don't want to live. Meanness and bullying everywhere. I love the comfort of my home. I'm like Tom, that Jerry, he is a mean one! HAppy Weekend everyone!

Wordless Wednesday and ThankFul Thursday

Wordless Wednesday

Thankful list:

1. Thankful that Nick has a new job and it is a perfect fit for him.

2. Thankful I gave Nick up to God and He answered the prayer we all prayed for.

3. Thankful that our friends Sherrie and Richard had adopted "Kona" and she was the "feline queen" of their home until her passing from kidney disease. She was born in England and came to the USA with her military phamily, eventually being put up for adoption. Thankfully Sherrie and Richard adopted her and she lived a wonderful life. I am going to ask them if I can share her photo here. She was a black beauty, so sleek, and exquiste.

Pinterest Persian Black Kitten with blue eyes.

4. Thankful for Debbie in the UK who said a black kitten "found" her and she brought him in from the rain and cold weather.  She is a doll artist and she had the cutest photo of her new friend sitting at her side while she was sewing. She was searching for the perfect name for him. She thinks someone dumped him by her home. :-(

5. Thankful for the moisture but tired of the cold and snow. The temps have been in the single digits again and this snow is hanging around until tomorrow.

5. Thankful Spring will eventually have to make an appearance, no matter how brief it is.

6. Thankful my tulips appear to be alive and well as they were pushing their little selves up from the ground before the last snow came and went.

7. Thankul that I pray and that God answers prayer, always in His time not the world's time.

8. Thankful for our milk frother. We've been drinking London Fog tea and are expanding our teas to of course, chai tea and also chamomille and sleepy time lattes.

9. Thankful for Bev, who is a terrific seamstress and talented crafty lady. She is one of the kindest people always stopping by to say hello. She is a real gem of a friend.

10. Thankful for my faith that gets me through the tough days as well as the good ones.

Tuesday4 , Happy Tuesday and Maxine Cracks Me Up and Sunday Stealing

In memory of Toni Taddeo please join Tuesday4

 Welcome back!

There are some things we just enjoy quite a lot. Let's talk about it okay?

1. Which book could you read over and over again? The Good Earth and To Kill A Mockingbird. Pearl S.  Buck and Harper Lee, two of my all time favorite authors. My late uncle was an avid reader and had an original copy of The Good Earth. He let me borrow it once as he knew I was careful and respectful of books. I wish I could have inherited that book after his passing, simply because we shared such a love for it. I believe I have gone through at least 5 copies of To Kill A Mockingbird.

2. What movie or TV program could you watch and never tire of watching? Maine Cabin Masters. I watch it faithfull twice a week. On Monday it is on from 7 A.M. to midnight. I tape the ones I can not watch. Although I am a Colorado native and have not visited Maine, I would love to have these awesome folks remodel a cabin for me, if I had one. Sigh...I can dream can't I?

3. What meal do you like enough to eat several times a week or several times a month?  Got a recipe to share for it? I love a three minute egg with grapefruit and whole grain toast or Avocado Toast. I love eggs over medium. I'm a breakfast person. I also love pancakes, waffles and crepes and I make all of them from scratch. I have easy recipes I have used: Trial and error. I have learned to put 5 stars on the ones I use forever. I also have a Belgian waffle iron which I purchased in 1972, the year I graduated from high school. Other than needing a new power cord, it works like a charm.

4. What place do you enjoy so much that you go back again and again? Why do you like it so much?  Other than my own home, which is where I really love to be, I love the Colorado mountains and love to go there at least once a year.  We love the Avalanche Ranch too. It is an amazing place to visit , especially in the dead of winter. They have natural hot springs and we enjoyed several hot springs with  some really great people mostly from Michigan there. I also love Kansas. Our youngest son attended college there and he spent five years in Kansas. We loved traveling there because it was a much shorter car trip than most places we love. Plus the people are friendly and my dear friend Linda lives on a farm in Kansas. I would love to go back and visit her again and again.

 Stealing Sunday

 1. How long have you lived at your current residence?  We bought our current home in November 2010. We purchased our home from  having financing pre-approved, visiting homes and moving into it in 10 days! People think we are pulling their leg but our finance guy Dave, was a saving grace for us as we had rented a house before that for 9 years and the landlord was in bankruptcy for 1 1/2 years before he tossed us out. We were afraid we would be homeless as no one wanted to rent to us because two of our kids were teenagers! My husband found an on line ad for Dave's company and voila, we were blessed by the grace of God.

2. What changes have you made to it since you got there? This is an older brick house, built in the 1960's. People were obsessed with trees back than. We had to remove two of them due to a water main line, we replaced a water heater and the HVAC system . So many projects left to do, all we need is more money! haha We removed a third tree this past summer. 4 to go!

3.  What surprised you about living in your place or in your neighborhood?  We have some really nice neighbors. It is a quiet area. Lots of stores are nearby.  It is a good area to walk the dogs in too.

4. If someone were moving in next door, what would you warn them about?  Probably the renters next door. They have three dogs and have been reported by other neighbors for leaving them out in the extremely  cold weather. The are are young couple, very unfriendly and  wecall them the "Witness Protection People". We once threw toys over their fence to help their first dog stop barking. After dark, they came outside and threw them back into our yard.

5. If you have to move in the next 45 days what are you not taking with you?  That would be tough for me. I love what we have but after seeing people fleeing the Marshall fires 20 minutes from our own home, it makes a person realize you need the absolutely essentials and all living people and pets and get outta there.

6. What are you currently reading?  My oldest daughter lent me a book about Ron and Clint Howard which was a good book and I also read a book called Tea for Honey by Elizabeth Caddell, an older author and book. I also started  reading a book about MLB NY Yankee catcher Thurman Munson, who perished in a plane crash for the second time. I am a huger MLB fan. My stack of books will be as tall as I am if I don't get busy and finish some of those in the stack.

7. What did you recently finish reading? A book about actress Sharon Gless, an older book about Dinah Shore and a cookbook by Joanna Gaines from Magnolia Farm.

8. What do you think you'll read next? I love older books so I have a book about Fred Astaire, my most favorite dancer since I was a small child. A book about Western NY that I start and stop reading. Also a few more books by Elizabeth Caddell.

9. When did you take the road less traveled?  2014, through a National Forest in Arizona. My husband thought he found a google travel plan that would have saved us time. Instead we were stuck on a two lane dusty road for over two hours, behind a rude guy driving a HUGE RV with  Canadian license plates.  He would not allow us to pass him. As a result we ended up driving through a National forest after dark arriving at our destination over 4.5 hours late! Except for the cacti, I thought I was in my own backyard with the pine trees!!!

10. Did you ever participate in a talent show? No, the closest I was to acting at all was in the second grade as the angel holding the star over the manger in the Christmas play at my Catholic school. My talent back then was being shy so I was musically inclined or able to sing or dance with a crowd looking at me.

11. When did you most recently strike out? Attempting for two days to make an annual mamogram appointment with my bone density appointment. I have already vented about this but it was incredibly frustrating as people often do not listen to what you say to them and then try to push you into taking an appointment time you already told them you could not do!

12. Where do you go to find yourself? On the floor putting puzzles together with our 2 and 4 year old grandsons. They bring out our inner child. Until it is time to get up off the floor. hahaha

13. What do you have mixed feelings about?  I love kindness and respectful people and I find there are many who do not agree with you on some subjects and therefore they feel they can be mean and hateful and bully you all the while saying I hope you have a beautiful day! I kid you not.  The world is a wacky place and I prefer seeking out goodness and people who can agree to disagree and be mature adults about matters of the world.

14. What did you mostly recently add to your collection of something? Shhh.....you can not tell on me. There are people who do not like or appreciate my collections! I love American Girl dolls and I bought one recently that had been previously loved, and I love to dress them them up and display them all around my house. It makes me very happy. My husband does not mind but it drives some of my adult kids crazy! They watched too many horror movies about dolls coming to life! hahaha

15. When did something most recently stir you to tears? A friend from blogging and social media, asked us to send her brother birthday wishes. He had a fall off his porch in 2020,  2 summers ago which caused him a life changing injury. He became a parapalegic. 200 cards were sent to him from 27 countries and he had an infection that moved into his blood and bone and ended his life. His wife and two teenage children cared for him. I was devastated for Beth and her loss of her big brother. But also grateful we were able to give him smiles for his birthday. Life is fragile. I handle it with prayer. We need to be more kind in this world. we never know when we will draw our final breathe.

These questions were stolen from   Kwizgiver by Beth. Stealing Sunday has been a fun blog hop. Please join it whne you want to.

Happy Tuesday

Ain't love grand?

Uh oh Maxine is gearing up for the time change March 13th. Maxine, I would love to go back in time and freeze it!

Have a wonderful Tuesday and enjoy yourself. Stay safe and warm or cool, depending where you are !

Aw....Mondays

Aw....Mondays

My boy is lazy like me. With 11 degrees outdoors it is nice to snuggle in. He is watching me drink my London Fog tea.  I am watching him behave for once. He is a funny C A T as our little grand boy calls him. They are friends.

Monday's are tough days for me. I really don't like to see my sweetheart go out into the cold and travel to work five days a week. On the other hand, I appreciate his endurance, working through difficult times and situations.  Don't think I Haven't had this thought before. hahaha

Something for Sparks today even thoguh Annie is on hiatus.

Have a beautiful and blessed week. I hope it is filled with many good things. Whether you are in the deep freeze, enjoying the sun or a coolbreeze, enjoy your new week and always be grateful for all you have.

Feline Friday and Friendly Fill In's and Pink Saturday

Feline Friday

I don;t have any other photos of this Rascal cat but when Avery and I were first married, she was abandoned and of course, we rescued here. My sweet husband called a vet and they said to rub her belly and stimulate her so she would drink the bottle we had to give her. Fortunately, my sister,  Mary, the original cat lady took her in. This cat was a beauty but she was terribly ornery . She was a biter, no matter how kind you were to here. We lived in fear. Avery worked at Pella Windows back than and he shot a nail from his nail gun through his hand. He was in terrible pain and discomfort. This innocent looking girl made him miserable biting at him and terrorizing him. But she changed when she went to live with my sister. She had other feline fur babies to hang out with, play with, and roughhouse with.

FriendlyFill In's is hosted by Ellen and co hosted by Lorianne. These 2 ladies each think of two sentences to share with us. Please join in.

1. I would rather smell a skunk than smell ________________.

2. Every March I look forward to __________________.

3. I knew ______________the moment that _______________.

4. _________________is currently my silver lining.

Join me tomorrow for the answers.

1. I would rather smell a skunk than smell a cattle yard.

2. Every March I look forward to Springtime

3. I knew I would love raising children the moment that I had my first baby.

4. My life as it is  is currently my silver lining.

Thankful Thursday and Dr. Seuss Day

Dr. Seuss Day Photo courtesy of MethodShop

Thankful Thursday  So much to be thankful for today and everyday.

Last night we watched our two grandsons so their mom and dad and big sister could go to the Nuggets basketball game. Unfortunately, for the Nuggets, the OKC Thunder beat them. Today we recuperate from two small boys with so much kindness and energy! Thankful

Some fellas do their best puzzle work shirtless. Others like to wear their whole pj's! This big brother is a good influence on the little brother. Together they put together two puzzles in record time. We watched so much Peppa Pig that when I woke up this morning and opened my laptop Peppa was staring me in the face! hahaha Very thankful.

The Grandpa had to get to work. His co worker  who recently bought a home in Pueblo, is contemplating retirement and had to make a trip South as there are issues with her house down there. I am praying the day goes by quickly without too many big jobs to tire my sweetheart.  He is a good grandpa and gets on the floor with these little guys. Once I am on the floor I have to crawl to my love seat so I get get up again. Ah....aging, it is certainly not for sissies (Bette Davis). Thankful

Jack LaLanne and I need more quality time together on his old videos. hahaha

I took a walk with Rebekah and Finn and Thor yesterday. They both like to be the lead dog.  They were told by their vet to lose a few pounds. I love the warmer months for this reason, we had been walking after dinner for the past two years with the pups. Rebekah and Zach walk Leo as he is a handful on his harness and leash. Rabbits, squirrels, birds, you know he wants to catch them all! Thankful for these moments with the pups.

Thankful that I can still pray and I am praying for our world. I am thankful for you and hope you are having a good day.
