Thankful Thursday Friendly Fill In's Feline Friday and Pink Saturday

Thankful Thursday

Glad to have grown up with Barbie. I remember my sister received a Barbie doll for getting her tonsils. out. I was jealous but my mom bought me one later on at Skaggs Drug store. Did you ever shop there? They had a whole basement area filled with a toy section. I am thankful for those bygone days.

Thankful that these two men made a powerful impact on my life. My dad on the left, who will be gone 38 years next month. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him. My father-in-law (holding Rebekah as a baby) was another man with a such good values, he raised an excellent son and I loved him dearly. Both of these men were godly and took care of their phamilies. So very thankful for them both.

Thankful for my beautiful childhood home (minus that ugly creepy fence the owners put up). I guess they are not smart enough to drive in and out of the long driveway to and from the garage with a beautiful chain link fence and matching double driveway fence.  I am thankful to this very day of the beautiful unobstructed view of Pikes Peak from my living room window there.

Time for the fill-ins.Ellencame up with the first two sentences and her co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. My favorite character from a film, tv or book is ____________________.
2. The one word I would use to describe myself is ___________________.
3. If I had to give you my best piece of advice, I would tell you _________.
4. _________ will never compare with _________.

My answers:
1. My favorite character from a film, tv, or book is Clint Walker as Cheyenne. It is an old tv Western but he stood for all that was good and honest.
2. The one word I would use to describe myself is outgoing.
3. If I had to give you my best piece of advice, I would tell you always trust your gut. That first feeling.
4. America will never compare with the way it use to be. It troubles me that people really truly want to live under the thumb of the government and not live freely.

We had company all week so I stayed away from my blogs and I missed them. Hannah and Jake went home today and Avery back to work as his co worker had this day off before he asked for vacation. It was a good week.

I was washing some of my cold water wash and Shea was with me. She saw me hang up this dress:

She said, "I love it!", I said "You're such a girlie girl!" She is something. Smart as a whip and funny and ornery too. She is a strong willed little lady.

This Pinterest kitten is so precious in pink I thopught perhaps they would enjoy here :

Always share your pinks here and anything else as it is anything goes!

Pink skies are always pretty. Someone mentioned that the Northern Lights could be seen in places in Colorado last night. I sure wish I could have seen them.

I heard from the Denver Post news that they could be seen over Denver and possibly tonight too. I am going to be out there searching the skies.

Yes, if you can dream it, you can do it! Thanks Walt Disney, what a visionary he was.

Wordless Wednesday Thankful Thursday Feline Friday and Friendly Fill In's

Zion National Park

Wordless Wednesday

Thankful Thursday

Oh how the years have flown by. My boy Boots passed away on this date in 2012. He was the ultimate BFF. Kind and compassionate, I believe he may have been an angel sent to take care of me.

Rose was born on March 16, 2005/ She cared for Boots until I took him to his final visit with the vet. She was first class, classy and very strong willed. She lived 7 more years without her buddy Boots. But she smacked Mister Kitty around when he bothered her. She was a one-of-a-kind of classy girlie cat.

He did indeed make these felines to help us coop in this world and to help them feel as strong as a lion.

Thankful for all these things in my life today and always.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Ellen came up with the first two and her co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. If one doesn’t ________________ then one doesn’t deserve _____________________.
2. What happens at _________________ stays at ______________.
3. One day I will _________, but for now _________.
4. If you ask me _________, I _________.

Stop by tomorrow for the answers to these questions.

My day was upside down and inside out. Boot and his anniversary always throw me for a loop. That and the fact I reconciled with an old friend. Bridget and her husband need prayer as well as her son Alex. Please, please pray for them. We never know what others are dealing with. So much sadness.

Pray for Paula and her girls and their phamilies too. Her husband Rick passed away unexpectedly Sunday March 12, 2023. Rick was the kindest kid in my senior class. We all became fast friends and the memories are running down my cheeks as I remember this kind and gentle man. I could write an entire post about him but I will wait until I am more composed. Although I had not seen Rick in many years he was one of the good guys. May he rest easy .

Rose would be celebrating a meownificant birthday in heaven today. She was a unique girl. Missing her also today.

Tuesday4 and Happy Tuesday with Maxine Cracking Me Up

It's time once again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

Since Saint Patrick's Day is March 17 it might be nice to talk about it.

1. Do you celebrate the day and is it more secular or religious for you? I was raised Catholic, I know all the background info on the various saints such as Patrick and my husband is Irish on his dad's side with ancestry back to a Nicholas Robinson in the 1700's. We just enjoy wearing green and enjoying the traditional food we have cooked for years, corn beef and cabbage and Shepherd's Pie.

We took this photo in 2018 with all our crazy green gear!

2. Americans eat corned beef and cabbage but it's not traditional in Ireland at all.   In my  house its Colcannon and Beef Stew or Cottage pie (shepherds pie made with beef instead of lamb).. which is more realistic and far less salty.  Do you make special meals for holidays?  What will you make for St. Patrick's Day?

We do make corn beef and cabbage and Shepherd's Pie. Rebekah, our middle is making corn beef and cabbage two different ways so we are waiting to see what she will do. She also plans to makes Irish soda bread although Sprouts grocery store carries a great variety. One year when my husband's oldest brother was still here (May he always Rest in Peace since 2015). his ex wife made corn beef and cabbage three ways, in a pressure cooker, an oven and a crock pot. To be honest, each one was delicious and tender and we had a small helping of each one. It is a nice memory of happier days for Michael before his ex dumped him.

3.  Do you have much green in your wardrobe? Does the color look good on you?

I do love green, and my late mom loved it too. In fact the last car my late dad bought for her was a beautiful sage green. I have a Teenage Ninja Turtle t shirt in emerald green. a sage green Ariel dress from LuLaRoe and some other tops in green. I have blue eyes so it is a good color choice.

4. In school we put up giant green shamrocks and Leprechauns. We made green paper chains to decorate our classrooms.  What do you do to decorate?

I use lots of Dollar Tree decorations because they are so reasonable.

This is a thrift store find and it was on our brown front door until our daughter Hannah, visiting from back east , painted it green for us last summer. We've had such a hard winter this year that many of decorations are still in the shed. Including my cute wreath.

Happy Tuesday

I thought talking about St. Patrick's Day would be a happy thought today.

I love all these sayings you can find for this holiday. Happy thoughts are the very best.

You know happiness should always prevail yet here is Maxine and she is being terribly ornery today:

Maxine is extra ornery today and all I can say is, oh that poor pup!

Aw...Mondays Love is... and Sparks

 Aw...Mondays

Date Night is a canvas by Lucia Heffernan at wayfair dot com

Although I am not a huge fan of the wild bunnies in my neighborhood this one is sweet in her pretty pink date dress.

My favorite part of any day, sleeping with my partner here.  Love is.... tells me the best things every day.

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." — Anne Bradstreet

Always good to share a Sparks today.

Tuesday4 and Happy Tuesday

Welcome to Tuesday4 I am happy to be here again. Now for some

Time

Time flies and weeks just seem to fall by the way side faster and faster.    We all have time on our hands at some point and we all find that time gets away from us at other times.  It takes a lot of work to manage your time because it seems to be at odds with freedom and creativity in some ways.

Perhaps we might talk about time and how we use it.

1.  Early to bed, early to rise?  Do you have usual times to go to bed and get up in the morning? How do they work out for you? I usually go to bed by ten o'clock since I am not employed any longer. I am usually up by 7 unless I can not sleep than somedays I get up at 5 with my husband who is getting ready for his day at work.  Some nights it is hard to get rest. It depends on the business of the day too.

2. Ecclesiastes  says "To everything there is a season  and a time to every purpose under heaven."

How much time is devoted to work, housework, hobbies? What about religious pursuits like study, prayer, services? In other words,  how is your time apportioned?  It depends on my sleep. This weekend for instance, I overdid everything so of course today I did not do anything much ,  Tomorrow I will get a few loads of laundry done and hauling the recycle and trash cans back into their place once the city empties them. I do listen to the bible and I also read early in the morning. I take a break for tea and try to find something nutrition for breakfast. Some mornings I like to make pancakes or waffles from scratch.  I like to read and have a stack books always ready to read as well as a few magazines I still get like Victoria and my favorite Tea Time.  Once and while I will watch grandkids or go out to breakfast or lunch with my grandson Colton and his phamily.

3. Do you think you manage your time well or would you like to improve? How would you improve? I try to manage my time well, lots of things always seem to come up. I don't have a set schedule but like to keep things up so I don't get behind or overwhelmed with too much to do.

4. Do you think time travel is possible? Why or why not? I wish it were but I don't believe so.

How does Maxine come up with this stuff? She is hilarious.

Happy Tuesday

Have a happy Tuesday and wonderful week.

THANKFUL THURSDAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR SEUSS

Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss. I am very thankful for him and his character that encouraged many children to read and to enjoy reading and become avid readers. We love you Dr. Seuss. Thank you to Thankful Thursday

I am thankful I woke up today so I could watch two of my grandchildren. I spent the better part of today with Brody and Blake. We talked about Dr. Seuss. We played Candyland and we played Go Fish and Slapjack. We watched Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol and even watched Monster Jam. These little guys know all the names of the Monster Jam drivers and their vehicles like Gravedigger and  Megalodon. There are so many of these and the boys were fortunate to see Monster Jam in Denver a few weeks ago.

This is RAGE. The boys loved seeing the show.

The snow melted, the sun came out, the day warmed u enough to do some sidewalk chalk.  I sure love these boys.

"Fill your house with with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks." Dr. Seuss
