Happy Tuesday

 Do you

Live with a cat?

Does he wear a hat?

Or perhaps, he wears a frown,

wishing his hat were

a crown.

Is he lying on your bed?

Or simply resting his head

in your lap

for his afternoon nap.

Happy Tuesday

Oh Maxine!

Aww.....Mondays

 Aw...Mondays

This is the hingry birthday boy! When he was over a few weeks ago he just finished lunch and a snack and walked to the fridge and said, I'm hungry. Oh Blake, you are so funny. Where did these two whole years ago? You were a tiny baby and now you' re fearless, a water lover, a big truck guy, the best little brother.

They took a little trip to the Great Wolf Lodge and visited Santa at the North Pole a/k/a Santa's Workshop at the base of Pikes Peak.  That big brother is a crack up and no deying he is the son of Jeremy Edward, our own son. HaHaHa! Biug sis Addy is a good sport, always there with her little brothers.
Aw....even Love is... loves a birthday celebration! I hope everyone has a wonderful week. My sweetheart had a three day weekend and tomorrow he returns to work. Makes me sad but grateful he still is working in this unstable world we live in.  I believe this is spiritual warfare , all of it and we are alive to see it unfold before our very eyes.

Rainbow Remembrance Day

We lost this precious Patriot Smokey. He was born on the 4th of July. He passed away in December 2019 after a two year battle with rectal cancer. What a friend he was to Jeremy and how he loved the little ones.

Bandit a/k/a Bandito the forever friend to Jeremy. He was getting ready to head to the Rainbow Bridge in November 2018. He had an amazing life. Avery and I were talking about how we miss his bark. He sounded like a ferocious beast when he was a tiny rat terrier.

Boots left me in  March 2012. It was Rose's birthday. I will never forget this amazing feline friend.

Roxanne, our sweet drama queen passed away in November 2013. Mister Kitty howled for days mourning her loss. He was an excellent friend to this tiny girl struck down by a form of Ovarian cancer.

November 2019 this girl Rose left our world. She was Nick's pal. He adopted her when he was in the fifth grade.  She passed away two years after he graduated from college. I always said she  was a left handed feline. She had a powerful left hook if you messed with her (i.e. Mister Kitty). She groomed Boots on his final day here, she was a kind and caring cat.

Layla was Trek's girl. WHen she became so ill in 2018 and passed away Trek stop living.

Trek left us in 2019. He was not the same after the loss of Layla. They were inseperable and Trek was not a friend to male dogs but he adored his girl Layla.

Spats was Avery's boy, a gift from his grandfather. That dog was so spoiled he rode shotgun and I sat in the backseat. He waited for the Broncos to win that first Super Bowl and then he passed away. What a friend he was, a caregiver to our young children and a lifelong friend to my husband. His passing was so hard on all of us. He was a friend you loved to have around.

My boy Casey, my friend who saw me through the loss of our unborn daughter Rachel. Elvis the canary who was Noelle's first pet. Gigi and Renee the mother/daughter duo loves of my life when I was a young girl.  Corporal, Avery's dog and Cocoa the Hamster -  Tinkerbell who was Rebekah's favorite friend, and Shadow and Rascal, a wild gpysy heart black lab and a crazy Calico cat. We love and miss each one of you. Someday we hope to meet you on the other side where life will be peaceful and calm and everyone will be kind. What a joyous day that will be.

Feline Friday and More

I am no good at making collages and editing photos but this google image caught my eye. A beach with pink and foamy, wavy water. That would be something to see.

I have spent my days praying and after the sad news of all the loss of life in the Middle East, I had to turn off for the day. I listened to calming music and read more. There is no turning back to what is coming so I am thinking of all those loved ones lost. I like to think God just scooped them up in HIs loving arms and took them to heaven.

There is so much encouragement in the bible.

 Feline Friday

Some felines have the life of Riley....just like a lazy bones sleeping and dreaming and doesn't care But at least he is not under my feet.

Noelle on her wedding day 08 27 2000. Happy Anniversary to Noelle & Roger/, 21 years of marriage. They have stuck together through thick and thin.

Very happy to see Noelle and Roger making their marriage strong. They have three kids, 11 grands. Life is good.

My mom was so little and frail. But she was at their wedding 21 years ago.  My goodness, it seems like yesterday it all happened.

A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year. ~Paul Sweeney

Here are my answers to yesterday's questions:

1. I plan to enjoy these last few days of August with my husband and kids.

2. I am a daughter of the King, Jesus Christ.

3. Believing anything you hear in this world is proving difficult these days.

4. Have I ever told you about the time I gave a ride to a little Indian lady that escaped from the hospital next door to my office? They wanted to admit her, to be fair, she had been drinking. But it was cold and snowy outside and I was heading home for lunch. The Good Lord basically whispered in my ear to pick her up and get her food. She was upset, because her mom had passed away at that hospital and she did not want to stay there. So I bought her lunch, gave her bus money and waited for her at the bus stop. She was grateful, called me an angel and I told her to behave herself.  It wasn't the first experience I had with someone who was getting into mischief because of drinking. I worked the second shift at the University Hospital Admissions office. We had to deal with lots of situations and people and it gave me something to remember by  helping  someone who at the moment, could not help themselves.

The sum which two married people owe to one another defies calculation. It is an infinite debt, which can only be discharged through eternity. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

1 Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.

Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.

2 Perfect communion, perfect delight,
visions of rapture now burst on my sight.
Angels descending bring from above
echoes of mercy, whispers of love. [Refrain]

3 Perfect submission, all is at rest.
I in my Savior am happy and bless’d,
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with his goodness, lost in his love. [Refrain]

Scripture Heed The Warning

 Matthew 24:6-14

And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains.

“Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 And at that time many will [a]fall away, and they will [b]betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and [c]mislead many people. 12 And because lawlessness is increased, [d]most people’s love will become cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. 14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole [e]world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Thinking about being thankful each moment of everyday. Our world has turned upside down and things are only going to become more difficult. I prefer prayer instead of scare! But that is just me!

I like to be thankful because I still have many blessings to be grateful for. I think about adding these simple blessings up each day and it helps me not concern myself with the ways of the world. I think if more folks turned off the TV and stopped believing all the scary world views, they would be happier. I know people dealing with their own struggles,  job loss, health problems, that live for the bad news. You have to realize, this is just to keep the people in line. I have never been much of a follower and I sure don't want to start now. I am happier beleieving something better than this will be coming my way.

If more of us stopped all the scary stuff, the hateful junk, the bullying and mean things we could be a combined H U G E difference in our own homes and even our communities. Think about that next time the news sends you into turning a smile into a frown. I like this quote attributed to Tom Brokaw. He grew up in the same small town as my uncle Tom B. They grew up in Yankton, South Dakota. My Uncle Tom had a wonderful outlook on life. He was always smiling, making others laugh or trying to make them feel more comfortable. He was a solid person, with a big heart and a kindness you don't  always find. I sure miss him and the great stories he always shared of his childhood.

It is a tiny photo but that is my mom's baby sister Jo and Uncle Tom on their wedding day. He was in the Army Air Corp. (WWII). Many years after their wedding in the Catholic church, they found out that the priest who married them left the church to get married. Auntie Jo told Uncle Tom, do you think we have been living in sin all these years? I am a thankful person as I had all these wonderful people in my life. It made it so much better.

I am very thankful at day's end, my blessing exceed my problems.

Ellen and Lorianne share in the hosting duties of this fun blog hop. They each select two of the sentences to complete. I hope you eill come join the fun. I will share my answers to these tomorrow:

1. I plan to ________________these last few days of August.

2. I am a ________________.

3. _________________is proving difficult these days.

4. Have I ever told you about that time that I ___________________?

Happy Tuesday with More Fun

If this isn't a HAPPY TUESDAY face I am sure one does not exist. This strong willed lil lady had the cutest floppy hat but she kept pulling it off her head. She comes to my house and all the dolls who wear a hat, goodbye, see you later.  She is not a hat person. Her brother was eating Dippin Dots, which require a small bank loan to purchase at a sporting event, an amusement park or anywhere they are sold!

Mint with crushed oreos. The person who invented dippin dots... what a concept. I can make funnel cakes like they have at carnivals or Indian Fry Bread but dippin dots, hmmmm no. We can churn ice cream with the old crank ice cream maker. Somethings are just that rare treat you have once in a couple years.

Oh Maxine....me too! All the experts everywhere . That selective hearing comes in handy for those times.

Aw...Mondays and Love is...

Aw...Mondays

A fabulous day at the ballpark. Nothing like baseball and being weith some of the ones you love.

Here is a Sparks to match my theme today.

The weather started out mild, hit the 90's but we laughed and enjoyed the game even if the Rockies let the Diamondbacks one win. (wink wink)

When you are with people you love, Love is the only thing on your list. Have a wonderful new week.

This girl Shea has grown so quickly. When she was born she had the skinniest little chicken legs. Her smile is infectious and once she gives you a big smile with all those pearly whites she has, you would be hooked. She is smart and understands everything you tell her. Sometime she gets so mad if she doesn't get her way, but we chalk that up to her age. Before we left the restaurant, her mom emptied the remains of her milk cup into an empty glass on our table. She rinsed it with a glass of water she had and filled it. Jacey had an appointment so we dropped her off and headed home to my house. Shea peeled that lid off her cup and poured that entire cup of water on her self gleefully laughing. She is a very funny girl. I can not believe sometime that she is so grown up and entertains us anytime we are around her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICHOLAS CARL
This child was born at 4 o'clock in the afternoon 28 years ago. He was an unexpected gift. So on August 20th we wish him a  wonderful birthday. He shared his birthday with my friend Sharon. It is going to be a bittersweet day missing her and celebrating Nick. He also shares this day with Richard, our California friend who is also am August 20th birthday. So I will wish Richard a very happy birthday too.

Jeremy with his baby brother on November 26, 1993/ They were taking their CHRISTmas photos. Look at the collar on Nick's shirt.

Nick is the baby in our phamily. He is very much like me. He likes nice shoes and clothes but he is crazy for Ray Band sunglasses and has several pair.

We always have tons of photos and lately I have had some issues with storing my overload of photos. Any suggestions? I am not too tech saavy.
Nick attended Cowley Community College on a two year track and field scholarship. When he earned his two year AA degree he transferred to the Kansas Wesleyan University and completed his studies there. He has had a rough time starting in October 2020 when he was so ill. In December, he ended up in the hospital and while all the hospital docs said he had the virus two specialist were called in and looked at his lungs. D U H ! Pneumonia. Once he had the correct diagnosis and correct meds he was able to recover but it has taken him a really long time.

Nick with some of his running buddies. Louis on the far right was a godsend. We would take Nick to meet him and Louis would give him a ride back to school and they were roommates at KWU too.The
running days were some of the most fun times for Avery and I when we could attend races. Nick ran in middle school, high school and five years of college.

Nick was smitten with with Miss Susie his first pre school teacher in 1996. This is a favorite photo of mine.
We are planning to go to our very first baseball this SONd
ay with Nick. We have not been to a game since 2019. Tomorrow we celebrate with cake and enjoy some phamily time.
