Happy Tuesday and Maxine Cracks Me Up

My friend Angela is a Corgi lover. I found this etsy, com image so had to share it for Happy Tuesday These pups seem to have a permanent smile on their faces so they always look so happy.

Maxine, I can relate to you here! This also reminded me of the Christmas Story movie with Ralpie's little brother Randy! He could never put his arms down once he got into his snowsuit! Maybe Randy wasn't happy but that scene brought lots of smiles.

Cowboys

painting by Mark Maggori
It's time once again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.  Let's talk about cowboys this week. Thanks to Annie for keeping this blog hop going.

1.  Do you like western style chuck wagon cooking?  Stews, chilis, beef steaks, BBQ  etc.?

Definitely! My husband Avery is the chili king. Our son-in-law Zach is the barbeque king. He also makes a terrific steak. We are so blessed they live with us.

2.  Do you make a good chili or do you know someone whose chili is the best ever? Beans, meat or both?

I just mentioned Avery! He is the best chili maker in town. People at his office love his chili. He uses three kinds of beans and good quality hamburger. He likes it super spicy and I like it mild. He just took a large batch to work when one of his pals retired.

3.  Who is your favorite cowboy movie star?

Oh goodness, James Drury and James Arness were the best. Also Clint Walker and Dale Robertson. I could share a whole bunch of fun facts about these fine actor/gentleman. We watch the old westerns all the time.

4.  Do you have a favorite western TV show or movie?

We really love Cheyenne and Wagon Train and Raw Hide. Those old westerns were the best. Nothing compares to them today. Except Jay Hernandez as Magnum PI (sigh).

Me and tea....I love it so much. So I like sharing a tea cup or pot each Tuesday. Here is a pretty share:

This cup is so pretty. I do have a clear cup just similar to this one. That pink tea is very pretty too.

These cupcakes would go perfectly with the tea today. It is very windy where we are/ These were Pinterest finds.

Awww.....Mondays and Love is....

 Aw....Mondays

Even though Annie no longer blogs some folks still share Sparks. Here is  one today from me to you:

Kindness is the best medicine for anyone at anytime.

Love is...my favorite dose of fun.

Tuesday Time

I am always falling behind. I think this snow, so much of it, has frozen my poor brain! I am stuck in a dark and gloomy day and just very grateful and happy to have a roof over my head, hot tea in my cup and heat running through our home.

Happy Tuesday

My beautiful boy Boots. He has been gone a long time and yet I think happy thoughts about him everyday. He was a one-of-a-kind incredible feline. I often wonder if he was sent to me as an angel in disguise. He sat with me through many sadness's. I will miss him forever.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 and if it's your first time its great that you are here and helping make it fun for everyone.

1. Do you have a favorite family recipe? Would you share it? I do have many, here is a favorite brunch time recipe, my famous Belgian Waffles:

2. Do you have a favorite book? How about a movie? TV program?

The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee are my two favorite books although lately I have been reading books by Marie Benedict. A movie, Peter and Paul, it is an old movie but one of our very favorites.  Anthony Hopkins portrayed Paul and did an excellent job of it.  We are all into the old Westerns on TV. Good clean movies.

3. What is your favorite snack? Favorite sandwich?

I love Wee Brie with the little toast crackers. They are shaped like pieces of mini toast and that is always a good snack with some fresh fruit.  Sandwich: Turkey with avocado and lettuce and tomato on 9 grain bread.

4. What is your favorite color for  a home exterior...a car...a room ?

Right now we have a green trim on our brick house. I love blue or green for cars and we have neutral paint in the bedrooms and throughout the house.  When I was a young teen my dad painted my bedroom lavender and I had curtains and bedspread to match.

This was fun today and I will be visiting and catching up with everyone participating. Thank you Annie for always doing this.

Maxine on a day like today, yep, I agree with you 100 percent!

I wish this were mine. sigh....love tea tyme. I am sipping Earl Grey Decaf because if I drank the caffeinated Earl I would be bouncing off the walls. It is a cold and dreary day so tea with a spoonful of honey is a necessity for me. Sometime in the mid day I will drink Earl Grey Lavender with foam, a London Fog kinda tea with honey. I use whatever milk we have on hand to get that foamy goodness.

See my  Wordless Wednesday

Aw...Mondays

Aw...Mondays

Shea loves her strawberry ice cream. At Brody's birthday party Saturday grandfather and I took this little lady to the ice cream bar so she could have a special treat for eating her brunch/lunch and being so good. Don't you love her sweater? Her daddy found it in a shop in Tacos, New Mexico on one of his deliveries. Say a prayer for him and Roger, his partner as they take deliveries North Dakota today. The weather up there has been cold and the snow, well, it is everywhere! Shea had her hair done at the resort in Florida when they were on vacation a few weeks ago. The lady did a beautiful job and mom and daddy said Shea was so patient.  She loves to show off her hair especially to Grandfather. She likes to lift his cap and lament, "Oh no, oh no and kiss his balding head. They are partners in crime when she stops over to visit.

We are having cold, windy days with more snow on the way!

This is a Pinterest photo but this is about the size of the storm we had. We still have large patches of snow everywhere in the backyard. Someone needs to apologize to Elsa.  Please, stop ordering these snowstorms!

February started off with Harrison James birthday , He loves Fortnight and he has been doing MMA Wrestling. Such a great kid and it is hard for this Grandmother to believe he is now 7.  Our daughter-in-law Brittany and Brody and my sister-in-law Joyce had  birthdays this month. Not to be forgotten Loki and Thor turned 5 on the 12th and my girl Lulu turns 5 on the 23rd.

I can't believe I didn't get photos of Brody on his birthday but I am sharing a few here:

This kid is a funny guy. He is such a good basketball player and he loves Super Mario, just like his daddy.

Brody Edward - it is hard to imagine five years have gone by. My littles aren't so little anymore.

Please have a wonderful new week and wherever you are stay safe and and happy.

Welcoming February and Thoughts on Aging With Love is... and Aw...Mondays

Five days into the new month and I realized I never gave it a proper welcoming. Along with the new month is a reprieve from the bitter cold and snow. We still have icy patches but the sun has been sunshining and gives us a reason to rejoice. I don't believe we have had a cold December and January like these past few moths. Grateful for the break in the weather. So Hello February and please ease us  into March where the winds will howl, more snow will be predicted and Spring will still be a hopeful time in our hearts. It make the world go round.

Did you know that February 2023 has 4 Mondays, 4 Tuesdays, 4 Wednesdays, 4 Thursdays, 4 Fridays, 4 Saturdays, 4 Sundays? We will never see this again in our lifetime because it happens once every 823 years. I thought it was a fun fact to know.

" Love doesn't make the world go round, Love is what makes the ride worthwhile." attributed to Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Thinking about aging and I found some wonderful quotes to share:

"Getting old is like climbing a mountain; you get a little out of breath, but the view is much better,: Ingrid Bergman

" No one is as old as those who have outlived enthusiasm." Henry David Thoreau

" My face carried all my memories, Why would I want to erase them?' Diane Von Furstenberg

"Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by a life that is just," Proverbs 16:31

" Love is the answer, God is the cure."

"You are worthy, our Lord and God , to receive glory and honor and power., for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their bring." Revelation 4:11

Aw...Mondays

I have a quick aw...Mondays story. I have known my friend Annie who use to blog many years ago. Her two older children are in high school so that is how long it has been! They live on a lovely property along with her two sisters and their folks. Her dad is a cattle rancher. She had a blog called The House That Jade Built. When heir youngest daughter was born with an extra chromosome  I followed them with love and prayer for this precious girl who is ten today and a real hoot! Jade & Annie adopted another DS girl from China and she just celebrated her 9th birthday yesterday.  An orange tabby showed up at their place. With the cold weather they let him come inside and realized he was a house cat. They took him to their vet, no chip and no tags. My guess is someone turned him loose. Meanwhile their girls gave him the name of :Pierre". So this cat is enjoying a good life with a sweet bunch of kind hearts. Pierre could be Mister Kitty's twin.  So I had to share his story and hope you will say Aw..... I do not have his photo to share so I am showing you my big boy.  I love to hear stories of others who reach out and save an animal from the cruelness of the cold weather and take them in as their own. Annie and Jade are really good about that. I'm happy I know this wonderful phamily!

I love weekends with my sweetheart because we can usually sleep in and I miss that during the weekdays.

Thank you for stopping by. I am coming over this week to catch up on comments. We still have to put up our Christmas decorations as there is so much mud by the shed. we are hoping next weekend it will be dry. I am anxious to put up Valentine decorations before the holidays disappears.

Thank you for being here and thank you for your love and support. Enjoy a wonderful new week.
