Radom Thoughts and Things

This is Baskin Robbins image for National Unicorn Day. This is a sweet cake.  I am being random today. National Unicorn Day was Friday, April 9th.

I want cake! I am thinking of baking one. It is a cold and windy day here. I think I Need more Wild Child Blueberry tea. To warm the chill I am feeling from this windy weather and from the sad news I received today from two dear hearts.

Beverly has hosted Happy Pink Saturday for as long as I have been blogging and before that! The link will not allow my blog,  Pink Saturday. to post and it brings up old photos. Very annoying. I sent a message to the link in people. Who knows!? Very sad that blogging has caught up with the ways of the world. I was hoping to share sweet Shea in her pretty pinkness.  I am going to try this blog. Prayers sent up!

Asking for prayer for this peanut

This sweet Ella girl is having surgery on Monday. She will be my twin as I had a shunt placement in 1984 to alleviate pressure. She no longer needs her oxygen. She is a real tough cookie. We love , love prayer for her please.

Prayers for my sweet friend Holly. Mid-week she said she was going off the grid due to some issues. Friday she said she was diagnosed with leukemia. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I sat and cried. She is so young and such a beautiful soul. Please pray for her.

Prayers for my sweet friend Bea. She is 90 years young and just two weeks ago we were chatting when her landlord Paul brought her some groceries.  She said he was a real godsend. But shortly afterwards he suddenly became very ill, was hospitalized and passed away. Paul was 63. The worse thing is Bea has lived in her complex for 50 plus years. Now younger people are taking over and they want to get the "old timers" out. One younger person who has friended Bea helped her get a new cell phone. Apparently Paul helped some of the elderly residents get cell phones and now I am guessing his phamily wants them to turn them in. So this other gal helped Bea choose a budget friendly phone and they picked it up yesterday. Bea has a younger brother in California and a sister in Missouri . But she is a single gal and now they want to uproot her from the place she has called home for years. When we worked together at the medical school in the 1980's, the UCHSC complex was within walking distance. I worked with Bea and she helped me find an apartment two doors away from her. We walked to work together and I have always admired Bea. They moved the campus several years ago. Bea had already retired and I moved to a different job near my home. Now Bea will be cast aside. Her friend from her complex helped her fill out an application for an independent/assisted living center. Problem is there is a 12-18 month wait list. Talk about this world not having compassion for older folks. It is sickening.

Bea is my "talk radio" queen and she has listened in for ages. They have never given out any fake, fraudulent or otherwise unwholesome news. In fact two weeks ago Bea told me about the Oprah interview with the former royals. I have never been a huge fan of the royal's but knowing that the Queen was very close to Harry and he betrayed her and his entire phamily for a person who has accused Prince Philip of unbecoming behavior regarding their infant son. Harry's wife said Philip was behind causing them grief. First of all, marrying into the royal phamily, one should know they believe their bloodline is royal and they do not like commoners coming on their scene. She had to be extremly clueless and due to her so called celebrity I doubt that would be true. Furthermore at age 99,  two weeks ago Philip was rounding the bend to the end of his life. It is tragic the selfishness these former royals have for his bloodline.  I say this because, never having been a fan of their interviewer, I think many people  itching for juicy gossip admire  celebrities. They like to stir the pot.  Prince Philip's childhood was something people should look into before they make such nasty meme's about him. Never being a fan of his or very much into the royals , I chose the high road, in the words of my late mother, do not ever speak ill of the dead. If you know the royals, you will know Philip passed away yesterday.

Proverbs 25:18 “Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow.”

2) Psalm 34:13 “Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.”

Not one of us knows when the end will come for us. It is more wise to stay on the right side of those we love and cherish because once that person is gone, all the flowers at the cemetery or all the tears they will shed are useless. Love and honor people while they are here with you.

James 3:3-6 “The tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.”

Proverbs 11:9 “Evil words destroy one’s friends; wise discernment rescues the godly.”

Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but hard words stir up anger.”

11) Proverbs 12:18 “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

A final note on my friend Bea's situation. She lives in a very urban and popular area. When I lived there, you could walk across the main road (Colorado Blvd.) and shop at a neighborhood market with a butcher and eat fresh and wholesome foods (before Whole Foods became a thing). Banking, restaurants, shopping were all close. A quick hop on the bus line took you to a world of shopping and five star resturants. You could safely be out  along the streets and enjoy an evening walk or early morning jaunt. It is even moreso a hot spot for new eateries and other exciting venues. Unfortunately, the young people do not realize even old timers like  us to try new and exciting places. My Bea is one of those people. Sometime I will have to tell you the story of the two of us meeting Winston Hill. If you dont know him, please google him. He was an NFL player when football wasn't poisoned by political opinions.

Before I close, I like to post different  Scripture because the bible lays out all of life's needs and these verses are so relevant into today's misguided world.

I know this is a super long post but it was important to me to write these words. I hope you understand.
